I could always go the FFH route and do patches a-z.

Hmm. At one point I thought you were thinking of changing the way you did patches. That is, patches that are save game compatible would get a letter, and only patches that break saves would get a #.

So it would have been 1.60, 1.61, 1.61a (1.62), 1.61b (1.63), 1.61c (1.64), and so forth until you get a save-game patch (or something like that).

Also, that naming convention gets rid of the pesky, "is this save-game compatible" questions

Thanks for the reply!

I think the difficulty is decided by the host though I am not entirely sure... Whatever he picks is what the AI is set at is what I'd guess.

16 continents? You guys like late civ contact or you love building instead of warmongering lol.

No, because 2.9 hasn't been released.

Glad to hear it :). Finally, my game is going perfect (excepting crossbowmen at Machinery and tiny issues addressed later in 2.9 :D). Give me to savor AND 1.64 to its fullest before moving on :).

Afforess (or anyone else for that matter),

Please try installing a custom installation of AND with the following items TURNED OFF: Beautification Project, Meteorology, Resource Refinement, Zoological Bldgs, Firestorm, Sea Monsters, Sports, NIMBY, Domesticated Animals, Farming, All interfaces (coal, Deep Red, Green, etc.), Warriors of God and Water Bldgs. Everything else is enabled. Try this and tell me if you can start a custom game using the ROM-Random Script Map. I cannot even get a game to start, but when I install using the Recommended setup I have no problems at all. Thanks in advance.

@GoUtes53: You have to chose one Interface and only enable this. Installing more then one Interface for sure will break something.

We got contact prety soon, but it was more of a test game, we are on a VERY different level, so that way every one has it's own island and those that want to go to war just need to build ship . . .

you are certainly right cause I set my difficulty level up once and it was looking like the game was more difficult for every body . . . (I am the host).

This is an odd feature of the game. There are multiple difficulty levels within the game. One is a game-wide difficulty, which determines barbarian and AI aggressiveness, while the other is player to player. In SP, you never notice, the two difficulty levels are always kept in sync.

As to how it is decided in MP, I honestly have no idea; the code for game initialization is in the EXE.

On that note, I've redesigned Flexible Difficulty so it should hopefully work with MP.

I had AND 1.60 working well, then decided to install 1.64 and got an error, so I deleted the Rise of Mankind folder and installed it again (RoM 2.81 Full + patch). After installing AND 1.64 I've tried to start many different games but always got the bugs pictured in the miniature below:

How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance

Disable UAC. Google it if you don't know how. ;)

Are resources supposed to run dry at the same time? I had three copper resources and all dissappered on the same time.

Also, I'm having some spots on the map that keep having FOW even though I have units nearby. Anyone else experiencing this?

No... There is randomness involved, so I can't imagine a scenario were this would occur. Bad luck maybe?

Yeah, I know about it. It has to do with Capital Cities & Embassies, methinks.

You are right, whenever an Embassy is established their captial's line of sight is visable.

Yeah, I know, I added that. But I think when the Capital changes for whatever reason, the tile where the capital used to be is shrouded in fog. I need to fix that.

So I'm assuming no one else could get the game to work with this installation, either? If you can, please let me know. Afforess, can you please look at this. I'd like to play your mod with my choices utilized if I can. Thanks again.

Yeah, I've had a busy week, I usually go through the bug reports during the weekend. ;)
