A New Dawn v1.71 is out!

It has too many changes to be considered a patch, and is not save compatible with prior versions.

New Features:
  • Science Mod by HydromancerX
  • Added Dancing Hoskulds updates
  • AI tweaks
Bug Fixes:
  • Great Commanders work after saving
  • Culturally Linked Starts work
  • The AI will not penalize you when they cancel Embassies
  • The AI will not give Corporations away for free
  • Better Air Interception is now an option in the installer
  • The City Radius Limit has been lowered to 2
  • Great Commander Promotions have been completely overhauled
  • Great Commanders are now documented in the Civilopedia
  • Occasional Promotions documented in the Civilopedia
  • The Gather Intel command no longer blocks the selection of other units, and works properly
  • Fixed bug where AI would never train Inquisitors
  • Mountaineering Tech is now invisible and unreasearchable if the Usable Mountains mod is turn off at games start

1.71 should be mostly bug free and more stable than 1.70. (famous last words, I know :p)

Enjoy, and (for the religious) have a happy easter weekend!

lol, if only I was a little more patient, but anyway yay!!! I'm am very happy that the culturally linked starts are working now. That's a huge plus for me. :D Afforess, your a boss, thanks for the awesome new version of AND, happy civing everyone! :D

The City Radius Limit has been lowered to 2

Is this the only change you've made to GlobalDefines.xml for this patch? (I have a few tweaks in this file and if it's the only change it'll just be easier for me to change my file and then copy it over.)

No, I increased war weariness a bit.

Do you forgot to include science mod aff?
I don't find it on the installation option

No, it's their, I just forgot to check a box that makes it visible. For those who care, you can wait a moment for a re-upload. If not; continue on. ;)

Hm. I think I need to bookmark the AND sourceforge page so I can simply look at the revision logs and if there are no changes, then it's safe for me to copy my modded xml files over. I hope. Some of the revisions say "no change" between them and if I can confirm my backups from 1.70's revisions have had no actual changes, then I can save myself some work (and my usual mistakes when I forget to incorporate a tweak) and get back to playing.

(Been up a bit too long so I'll have to do that tomorrow or I'll definitely mess something up..)

Ahh, finally!:goodjob:

Happy Easter!:jesus:
For the non religious Happy Easter!:D

Jesus Christ, it is Good Friday (or at least it still is on Pacific Time)

Trivia of the Day, Pontius Pilate is innocent

Successfully reuploaded. Identical to the other file, except research buildings show up in the custom options. If you don't care about Research Buildings, just keep playing.

any improvment in MP ?

Just for info:

We played a MP game with ROM 2.81 + AND 1.70.

Game option:
5 human 9 civ total, Big map, Archipelagos with low sea. Speed FAST
the 5 human had different difficulty level from emperor than down one per player.
No flexible difficulty cause it make it to difficult for the not so experimented of us.
Barb world, barb civ, barb general.
we play with all recommended mod from AND exept seafaring, but with war prize ( it is not MP recommended but works fine), resource refinement, I think thats all.
Revolution on, (ok we get the windows up what ever civ got rev alert but it is playable, we are on skype all of us so we agree on what to click . . .)

REVDCM:
Stack attack
Archer bombard, volleying,
All battle option on exept battle effect
all air combat on

We end the game at 300 AD, with ONLY OOS when human citys deffended by archer get attacked (barbar or other civ). Let say about 10 OOS in 130 + turn !
We will continue later tonight . . .

If we try that with ROM 2.9 + AND 1.70 well, it goes OOS at start as every body knows, than OOS randomly (we don't make to know realy why), with white error text (supposely not important), every few turn, in other word unplayable.

I still get random CTD with ROM AND but now when I start up with 1.71 I get this:

Failed Loading XML file
modules\Afforess\Required\Afforess_CIV4CivicOptionInfos.xml.
[.\FXml.cpp:133] Error parsing XML File-
File:
modules\Afforess\Required\Afforess_CIV4CivicOptionInfos.xml
Reason: The element 'iScreenOrder' is used but not declared in the DTD/Schema.

Line: 13,18
Source: <iScreenOrder.0</iScreenOrder>

When I hit ok I then get the error:

LoadXML call failed for modules\Afforess\Required\Afforess_CIV4CivicOptionInfos.xml

The game will load up, I can start a game, but about 15 turns in CTD.

Also, still always have to change resolution when playing to get the info bar. Once I change the reso, the bar shows up even if I just change back to the resolution it started on.

Don't install overtop of one another. I can tell you installed over an old install, because there is no Afforess_CIV4CivicOptionInfos.xml anymore. Grab a clean copy of RoM 2.9, install over that.

Is 1.71 compatible with RoM2.91?

2.91 has a new .dll.

I'm busy this weekend (family) expect a patch by wend. Don't worry, RoM 2.91 changes basically nothing. It's basically a catch-up patch for bugs I found in RoM and already fixed. (You can tell by the patch notes, where Zap thanks me a couple times. ;) )

if someone will answer my problem from a page ago I would appreciate it

You never asked a question. Just telling me you had errors does me no good. I know the installer works, and I know the RoM rar file isn't corrupted, so the problem is on your end.
