Hey, I want money but I don't want to work a regular job. No, I don't want to join a network marketing pyramid either!

Seriously, the idea of having another job makes me cringe but of course eventually my funds will run out.

Does anyone here know anyone personally who has an income that doesn't come from a job (or interest on a bank account or gambling in the stock market or real estate)?

Thanks!

Sure. You have plenty of options. Sell drugs, rob banks, steal from people, blackmail people, pornstar, etc.

Only sell drugs until you have enough to buy a couple of ho's. Then pimp the ho's until you can afford a whole stable of ho's. Then you'll be a pimpin' mack daddy, flashing your bling-bling.

I have found that when you can make some money from having a real skill it is much more rewarding than a fast buck. Pick something that you like and try to find a way to make a living from it. It is difficult at first but after time you can be one of those few people who can make a living from what they enjoy, unless you want to be an artist or musician, in that case all bets are off.

If you are willing to accept a few years of povery, follow your heart; it is worth it in the long run.

There are few greater rewards than being good at something that is hard. There is no greater pride than the one that comes from paying your bills and following your heart at the same time.:D

Maybe my answer does not qualify:
or interest on a bank account or gambling in the stock market or real estate

What do you mean no speculation on real estate? or no real estate at all?

What I do: I bought a house 2 years ago. Got a big mortgage on it and pay interest every month. I live in it, ofcourse, but also three others. They pay far more rent, than I pay interest :D .

This gave me the opportunity to 'work for share'. I have a low income, but a great bonus (I am a sales rep) in company shares. I can effort the low income, without giving up my expensive hobbies (see sig) beacuse of this extra income.

Works for me! In the long run (2-5 years) our company will be sold. The questions is will we do bad? And liquidate the company and only sell the source codes? Or will we do good? And sell the company and get rich?

Anyway: buying a house an let others pay rent for it is always a good profit!

I 'earn' extra money on the side pretty much every weekend. I've always been keen on the horses and over time i realised that it's pretty much all mathematics, horses with certain track records, in certain races, paying certain odds, under certain circumstances tend to win a lot. The trouble is my friend that it takes a lot of reaserch and experience before you come up with particular methods... but once those methods are established, together with staking plans, it is a nice little cash cow. Not for everyone though, you hafta like horse racing cause you hafta watch a LOT of it...

Powergame in one of the multitude of online RPG games and then sell your ill gotten goods over ebay for tons of real life money. :)

Easiest way ever to make money

Here is some Logical Advice.

If you don't make enough money to cover your costs....lower your costs.

Appears you have the internet. Cutting that can save $20-$60 a month. Eat less food, walk to work....save on gas.

Of course...I prefer to work 20 hours a week...and live off of $500 a month. :)

I agree that mathematics can be used with gambling, and thus gambling becomes 'not just gambling'. But, as you say, it takes time to gather statistics, to analyze these statics and then, to find the patterns you just found by analysis.

All together one can say it is work, I guess.

Just get a really low-stress job, like working at a fast food joint or a big supermarket. Then you get to go home and never really think about work until you have to go.

Some places pay you pretty decently, too.

That's very easy! Just get an idea no-one has got before.

Well said. I remember the first time I went to Washington Square Park and saw the people there playing chess for money. Unfortunatly I don't have the patience (and perhaps not the skill though probably if I was disciplined enough) to get good enough to make a "carear" out of that, also it's a pretty grimey job and sometimes people don't want to pay.

I like cooking but I think having to do it all day might take the joy from it.

By the way, I didn't mean anything is wrong with real-estate or stocks. When I have more money I'm definitely going to dable in real-estate, to me it's the ideal system : you can have your cake & live in it to (or rent it or whatever).

Last night I ran across of a number of a guy who had offered me a job awhile back. At the time I didn't have a car however and now I do. This morning I called him & perhaps I can get that job. It's a sales job which makes me a bit antsy but I'm curious to see what it entails.

Keep the non-job $$ ideas coming though! :goodjob:

Oh & by the way, no drug dealing or anything illegal, avioding detection would be a job within itself. :)

Sounds like something I saw on Law & Order: Criminal Intent last Sunday ... except that it was a scam ;)

I'm suprised no one talked about selling blood and plasma, it can give you some x-tra scratch, also you can dig out all the crap you have lying around and sell it on e-bay
