They say that men worry about hair loss more than almost anything else.

Are you genetically doomed to lose you hair? Are you already balding? Would you say that you are losing it/are going to lose it prematurely?

As a rule of thumb, a man's age in years equals the percentage of his cohorts who are bald/balding.

So about 20% of all twenty-year olds are balding. About 40% of all forty year olds are balding. About 60% of all sixty year old.. etc... You get the idea.

As an added insult, mainstream American women (and gay men) tend to prefer less hairy or hairless men, and the hairier you are at age twenty the more likely you are to suffer hair loss at forty... I assume this is a worldwide preference now that America's exported it's culture everywhere. So hairy men usually get hit w/ a double whammy -- hairy at twenty, hairy AND bald at forty...

The theme of the attached poll is: dealing with hair loss.

Even though I have almost no chance of going bald if it did happen I'd shave my head, go for the Moby look.

My housemate and my mom claim that I'm already balding, on the top of my head; though I, of course, can't see anything...

But I'm not really concerned about it; I can deal with hair loss. :yeah:

Until the time when I really start losing my hair I think... Not sure how I'll react then...

You missed an option: "Don't worry about it". :D

I've had thinning hair since High School. My wife knew I would end up bald before I proposed - didn't bother her then, doesn't bother her now.

For me, I won't go to the bother and expense of doing anything "about" it. If it is a sunny day, I'll put on a hat - sunburned scalp is painful. But that's the only concession I'll make.

The other day, my 6-yr-old grandson pulled his hair up off his forehead, and said "Hey! I look like Grandpa!"

shaved head or don't care

My hairline (receding quickly, yes it is) is actually kinda cool. It comes to a inch-wide point on the center of my forehead, then sweeps back to the middle of my head. It's kinda punk.

I kind of worry about it, but not too much. If I was single, I suppose I would.

Studies show that women actually find bald men more desirable. Do you think they'd find Dr. Phil sexy if he had hair? No way!

Besides, I've always wanted to say "Well, I had it when I needed it!" when being picked on for baldness.

A sad commentary on life today, if that's true.

Same here Yoda...my hair grows like a weed and I have to get it cut very short at the barber or in a week I'll need another haircut. Usually I get it cut about twice a week.

What looks better than a combover? Oh, right...everything.
I don't really care but I guess I would go for a short haircut or for a shaved hea.

well, i'm really not supposed to go bald. you're supposed to look at your mothers brother, and if she doesn't have a brother you look at her grandfather. my great grandfather died with a full head of hair. but... it looks like i'm following my fathers footsteps and going bald early. the sides of the front hair above my forehead is receading. actually looks good on my right now. going bald doesn't bother me, even if i am turning 23 in a month. i look forward to shaving my head.

I probably won't go bald, its not in my genes, but if it happened I'd just cut it up short.

There is nothing worse than seeing some gob**** with three trands of hair combed over his bald head. I don't get it, you just look worse, especally when a gust of wind hits.

Hair pieces and all the rest? Its pure vanity.

My grandpa is 92, he has a full head of hair
I don't need to worry

I will not go bald. :hammer: :)
