I go into it a little bit it in the first map Here, but to sum it the maps with regards to Monarchies is based of what the territory was at the time of their deaths, it is an arbitrary point, but any point would be arbitrary.
So Queen Victoria died on the 22 January 1901, Canada became a independent country in at least name in 1867, and Australia on the 1 January 1901, while for New Zealand it was not until 26 September 1907. Now there is a very good debate as to when countries actually became independent from the UK in practice is not in name, but i decided to use the contemporary dates most people look back to.

It and Australia were officially titled dominions of the British empire until 1931.
Their earlier “independence” was pure race politics to elevate predominantly white colonies above indigenous colonies like India.
So besides the dubious rationale and the literal presence in the British empire, there is also the fact that they were dragged into all the major British wars until 1931 too.
I don’t think anyone actually considered themselves not a part of the British empire in Canada or Australia until after he statute of Westminster.
But this does raise an interesting question about the colouring of these maps. If it’s arbitrary enough to make such a decision on a whim, what’s the value? England in game clearly doesn’t represent Australia, Canada, India or any other part of the empire besides England itself, it’s city list is decidedly monoculture. All the shaded non-England parts of the map are represented in game by conquering other civs

Ok well this has been a right difficult search, just putting it out there, has anyone else seen any maps or documents that give clues to the location of the Machupe locations in the real world
I've been doing some research into Mapudungun and there aren't many resources. Where can I find the list and I'll do some research to the best of my ability.
You're not going to be able to do better than vague regions: because that's all any of these places are
The Pikunche are the people who live in Pikun Mapu, etc...
Amusingly, the Civ VI Mapuche city list has variant spellings for the same regions! So:-
Pehuen Mapu = Pewen Mapu
Huilli Mapu = Willi Mapu
Ngulu Mapu and Puel Mapu seem like really large regions: basically the former is the entire Mapuche territory in Chile, and Puel Mapu is the entire Mapuche territory in Argentina.
I've been checking the locations used by Lacisiraxariscal and not all make sense geographically- e.g. Peñi Mapu means "Brothers of the Land", and as such is not a place as such but a name used by a few organisations, one of which is in Olavarria, Mapudungun name being along the lines of "Settlement on the banks of the Tapalqué stream".
