You obviously use the Diplomacy screen. But is Very important to use the Comment line (type in what you are trying to do!) to get a clear understanding. Otherwise It can be confusing.

I could imagine I use the diplomacy screen, but how a deal proceeds? I never traded with another human player which wasn't in real time. Does it wait one turn each time we can't agree on a deal? Do people usually arrange the trade outside the game so we don't lose time in remaking the offers?

Yes. And the 'accept deal button isn't there, just propose deal so you have to click that when the deal comes in without changing anything to agree to the deal made, which comes up as a popup diplo screen with the deal proposal at the beginning of the turn. When you make a proposal, that's what you're sending to happen for that player you're proposing to and if they click on propose trade without changing anything then it's accepted, otherwise it'll bounce the new proposal back to you.

Sometimes.

You can practice on a hotseat game between a few human players in the setup. Works the same there.

This game takes too long to play before work now, so I'll get to it in the evening. Might be tomorrow in this case however, as I'm out this evening and unsure what time I'll get back...
