Master Map Change Thread

I like Moroccan tea.

Added tea to morocco 1S of Marrakesh. Moved iron to Marrakesh. Changed crab off of its coast to fish.
Changed sugar on Madeira to a wine.
Changed Cape Verde to a plain hill with a marble on it.
Expanded the Ahaggar mountains in the Sahara closer to Algeria.
Moved the horse resource 1E and 2N. Made the desert where the horse used to be a mountain tile.
Redid hill/flatland of the Maghreb
Algeria is now a flatland, and the only coast place west of Tunis that isn't a hill until Tangiers.
Algeria now a city instead of Omar in 1700 map.
Moved marble on a hill.
Removed the wheat in Algiers
Moved dye to 1W of Carthage
Moved oil 1W
Moved clam 1N closer to Barcelona
Moved wine in Sicily 1E
Added islam to Sri Lanka (and took out Orthodox and Catholicism in the 1700 map in Egypt, Israel, and Ankrara if you didn't read that a long time ago. Really, they shouldn't be there.)

Question: Should I add a copper to Algiers?

EDIT: Added wheat 2S of Tunis
Removed Tunis' fish

EDIT EDIT: Moved river in Algeria 1SW to put it in its proper place
Moved iron 1N and 2E of Marrakesh.

EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Dynamic tea resource in 1800 that replaces iron

Replaced iron in Sri lanka with Tea
Removed the fish off of Sri Lanka

You may not want to do either of these. There is a reason why they are there (hint: it's light blue with a bit of yellow).

Could of been less smug, but that's a good point. I never play 3000 start so I forgot they even existed. I'll leave the fish and iron, but make the iron turn to tea in 1800

Not enough to warrant the unhappiness. If you count that as having it in the region, then there would be an extra religion in a ton of other cities. Catholicism in Sweden, Islam in Spain, and Christianity in Japan.
Another reason is gameplay. As a 1700 start, the AI should have prosecuted the religions. The Arabs wipe out those religions automatically anyways. There is no reason orthodox or Catholicism should be in the region other than Christian bias.

Firstly, all of that does happen in 3000BC starts.
Islam in Spain, Catholicism in Sweden & Christianity in Japan (more uncommon).

Secondly, Japan. Christianity was largely confined to the Kyushu region so in game terms would typically be relegated to Nagasaki or Kagoshima.
Christianity in Japan didn't last long; your point is valid.
However, Christianity in the Middle East was very long-lived, and was for the most part, the primary religion for several minority groups (Armenians, Copts, Assyrians).
Consideration outside of 1700 AD is important here.

Thirdly: Japan's state religion in the 1700AD scenario would be Confucianism:

While we are on the topic of what religions should and shouldn't be present in certain areas, this is a notable omission as it stands.

Interesting! Japan does, to this day, still have a lot of Confucian temples. I'll add Confucianism to the cities in Japan, since I moved the luxury resources into their starting land so they start off happier. I'll also add Confucian temples in Kyoto and Edo
Looking at the percentage of Christians in Egypt, 5-20 percent, I must say the percentage is larger than I thought. I'll re-add orthodox to Alexandria. But I'm keeping it out of Cairo, Ankara, and Jerusalem.
Now the interesting thing about Christianity in Japan is 10 percent of the prime ministers have been Christian when only 1 percent of Japan is Christian.

Dynamic tea resource in 1800 that replaces iron

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!?!?!!!!! NEVAH!!!!!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?! My Tamil strategy has been ruined! Ruined!

Well I'm going for realism, not benefiting alternate future.
in the end it's Leoreth who decides what is good and what isn't in here.
Update:
Moved Mombasa 1S in 1700 map
Added resources in Indian ocean.
Redid Madagascar:

Should I take out the cow?

EDIT: Removed St. Helena from the middle of the Atlantic. I mean, the purpose of the island doesn't really serve in this game as you don't have to stop to refuel ships or exile midgets. If we have St. Helena, why not the Bermuda? etc...
Expanded the coast around Durban.

EDIT EDIT:
Switched cow and coffee
Re-added St. Helena, but completely surrounded by ocean. Just an aesthetic easter egg, I guess.
(Real reason is when I turn it into an ocean, the tile appears weird. Anyone know how to fix it?)

In that case, keep the iron.

Hmm.. Alright. Then it is the spices that change in 1800 to tea. No big deal.

Whew! I thought all of my Tamil strategies were doomed for a bit.

Working on Tanzania and Kenya at the moment. Looking good

What is so important with tea on Ceylon? I think the cinnamon is a lot more important historically.

You people are forgetting that I said it would be dynamic. Of course I wouldn't take out the iron when a civilization needs it.
Ceylon is the world's biggest exporter of tea. Passing even China. There isn't that many tea resources in the game.

Kenya, Tanzania

No dynamic resources.

What happened to the crab resource? It's really hard to make a good city there to take advantage of those luxuries. With Ethiopia, you used to be able to make a city there that got silver, gems, and crab so you could easily work both of the luxury mines.

I hope that there are still gems in southern Africa. You could also put some in Madagascar if you're looking for an opportunity to add more.
