Masters of the Seas

Hannibal is orange colour territory, unless they changed it in BtS from warlords. Looks like Liz to me.

True, well we will meet soon enough, I have already saved and I dont plan on continuing until tomorrow, but a Trireme has become my top priority and is probably my very next build.

OK I lied I just couldnt help it. :p

Liz.JPG

You where right its Liz, and she is not buddhist, she might open borders, its not as certain as with Joao but a posibility none the less.

This is getting weirder by the minute, or better said by the turn.

OK she did open borders, completed Acueduct in Amsterdam, working on a Trireme, completed barracks on The Hague, working on a Galley to settle the island east, I also want to settle the ice/tundra cities ASAP otherwise Lizzy wll get there first.

It will be interesting who is the worst enemy of Isabella, since usualy, if you trade with the worst enemy you become the worst enemy, that might be the drop that will spill it all and cause a war with either me or Lizzy, I guess it will be decision based on the power graph.

I guess now I want to get Alphabet, the prereqs for Astronomy and let the Lib race start.

Alphabet.JPG

Izzy has Alphabet and is the only one who does, so I better hurry in order to get the best from Joao and Lizzy.

I think I just got a nice trade partner

Liztr.JPG

This will start cimenting a nice relationship which will only get better as I get to Lib and adopt Free Religion which will remove the negative religion points, and I might even gift it to her so she can adopt it herself and gain the positive points for sharing favorite civic.

After thinking about it for a while I have decided my best bet is to remain peaceful until I can turn the diplomatic tide against Izzy, researching Liberalism and trading/researching for Monarchy will allow me to do just that.

Ill adopt both Hereditary Rule, and Free Religion, and will gift Liberalism to Lizzy so she can adopt her own favorite civic removing the negative for different religions and adding the positive for sharing civics.

Ill do the same with Joao and Hereditary Rule, plus Ill bribe him into the liberal block so Ill have the positives for sharing civics with him too, the negative for religion will go away, plus Izzy will lose her ally.

Also I guess Lizzy already has at the very least one city with Buddhism so if I see Izzy researching Teocracy Ill have to either cross my fingers and hope Ill get Buddhism in atleast one city, or attack her once she has finished researching it otherwise she can build the AP and drag Joao and Lizzy to war against me.

Ill also give in to all of Lizzys demands, and all of Joaos demands that dont interfere with my relationship with Lizzy. I will trade tech much more actively with Lizzy than with Joao though since there is always the posibility he may broker it and share it with Izzy.

So well, this far and with 3 civs spotted that seems like the diplomatic map.

OK I have completed The Colossus in Utrecht, no more wonders from now on until Mausollos and then until Taj Mahal. I have decided Im not building either Spiral Minaret nor Ankor Wat. I just happen not to find them useful enough in this map/game.

Colossus.JPG

With The Colossus completed working on a granary now.

Trireme completed in Amsterdam, working on a Colosseum.

Workboat completed in Rotterdam, working on Moai.

Colosseum completed in Amsterdam, working on 2 archers for city garrison on the following settlements.

Joao either completed Alphabet himself or traded for it with Izzy, I traded Currency which I just finished researching for Alphabet and Meditation, not sure if Izzy will be able to get her hands on my tech but its worth taking the risk.

OK this just makes our game that much easier!!!

Awesome_trade.JPG

Im glad the diplo picture is starting to look brighter, after I met Joao I thought that was the end all diplo blowout.

OK now that I have both Monarchy and Alphabet Im teching CoL and CS in order to change my civics to Hereditary Rule and Bureacracy greatly improving my production/science output and stepping further into the diplo by running the same civic than Joao, now I have open borders with Joao if in top of that I spread Judaism to him there is a chance he will like me enough to convert.

The 2 archers where completed in Amsterdam, working on a market, galley completed in The Hague, working on a Colosseum.

Utrecht completed the granary too, working on a library.

I got Zoroaster GP in Amsterdam, I can either use him to bulb Theology for trade fodder/building the AP and drag Lizzy onto war against Izzy or settle him to keep feeding my capital cash for when I build banks+grocers+Wall Street+HQ for my corps.

Zoroaster.JPG

OK on an Archipielago map you know from the get go you are playing for the long term, so settling it is.

Although bulbing does give me Christianity too, which eventually means an even greater cash flow, plus reaping better benefits from Free Religion and like I had mentioned the AP plus trade fodder to kill it off...

OK Im bulbing.

Well Christianity came up in Rotterdam, decent enough. Another advantage is that I hadnt settled the ice/tundra cities yet nor the eastern islands so it still came up on a decent city.

Christianity.JPG

OK diplo trouble has effectively been overcome and the AP now seems like a must have. Good thing I bulbed Theology.

JoaoJew.JPG

Funny how he converted on his own, I guess my trade routes where more lucrative than Izzies and therefor Judaism spread more efficiently.

Used the Christian missionary on Amsterdam, working on a Chrisitian temple, working on a settler on The Hague.

Library completed in Utrecht working on a courthouse.

Temple completed working on a Lighthouse on Amsterdam.

Temple completed working on the AP.

Damn Elizabeth, she converted back to Hinduism.

cheating.JPG

Now Elizabeth is making an stupid request, she is atleast only asking for help, not demanding, our power graphs are about the same though, I doubt she would demand even if she where pissed.

She is asking for CoL and Im giving in, I want her to research Philo, so I can trade for it in my way to Liberalism.

Izzy made a stupid demand too, to which I didnt cave, traded for Calendar with Liz, completed CS, converted to HR/Bureacracy, started researching compass for the harbors and in my way to optics.

Nijmegen has been founded it, turned out better than expected with a horse resource in the BFC along with 2 food resources, this will be my GP farm.

Nijmegen.JPG

BTW this this city is working on a workboat, The Hague is working on a harbor and Rotterdam is working on a lighthouse.

Completed Compass working on machinery.

The AP has been completed.

AP.JPG

Izzy is dead meat once I pass the resolution to kill her.

Amsterdam started work on a harbor.

OK got a little too ahead on the game and will have trouble catching up, lets just say things are getting HARD.

Lizzy has become a pain in the a$$ since she wont trade me philo which is the only reason I gave her CoL, now she knows she is lost on the Lib race but she is going for Nationalism and will beat me to the Taj Mahal which is pretty important for me too and she also took one of my city sites.

Ragnar showed up and he is Buddhist, him and Izzy have their hands full so Im spamming Long Bows, its going CRAZY out there.

Joao and Lizzy didnt agree to stop trading with Izzy let alone DoW on her.

Heres a game save so you can watch by your own how stuff is getting.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing the Taj. It's important, but you can always burn a GP, or not worry about it. I'd also try to beeline gunpowder and/or astronomy to take out Izzy. In particular, I'd think about using privateers on one of the two, and DoW'ing the other.

This thread is very interesting for a newbie.

Thank you very much! :goodjob:
