Math06: RaR, OCC, Space

Roster:
Mathias - just played
Methos - Cruisin
Beorn-eL-Feared - Up
DaveShack - On Deck
Disenfrancised

Forgot. Will get to this tomorrow.

Well, you might as well take it, I had forgotten

Who has it?

Beorn asked for an un-skip. I played last, so you're up, Methos.

Okay, got it. Won't be until tomorrow as I just played three turnsets in other games. Plus I have Nero2. What a way to come back from vacation.

Just curious, what happened to Dave Shack? I thought he was up next. Either way, I got it and will play whenever possible. Edit: Just noticed Dave played just before Mathias.

Unfortunately CivFanatics is down so I can’t go back and look at our plans so I apologize if we had a definitive plan in mind.

1700 AD (0):

1710 AD (2):
IT: Plastics>Space Flight. We earn a SGL!

1715 AD (3): Set slider at 1/8/1.

1720 AD (4):
IT: SETI Program>Hoover Dam (Pre-build)

1725 AD (5): Set slider at 2/7/1
IT: Space Flight>Computer Networking ()

1735 AD (7): Set slider at 2/7/1

1740 AD (8): Set slider at 3/6/1
IT: Computer Networking>Pesticides (0/9/1)

1745 AD (9): Switch build to Computer Network
IT: Computer Network>Hoover Dam (Pre-build)

1750 AD (10): Set slider at 2/7/1

Notes:
-Next turn, when Pesticides is known, switch our build to Modern Farm.
-Every AI civ has at least two aluminum so when we are ready to start building the Space Shuttle we need to trade Mass Production to one of them.
-We currently have four SGL’s stashed away.

Here’s the 1750 AD save.

Got it, playing atm.

Research: beelining for microchip, I think I left it clicked in.

Production: Modern farms, Wind farms, Space program, Thrusters (SGL) (due)

Trade: Oil, rubber, iron and coal +50gpt for Manufacturing plant to Gandhi. He's got it, we're all good, so I take Aluminum for 453g.

DaveShack UP, Mathias on deck.

The way I see it is: I was to be up but methos came back, so I left him take his 10 and then played mine, thus following "normal" roster order. Sorry for the confusion.

Produced: SS Thrusters, Silicon Valley, working on SS Docking Bay
Used hoover as a prebuild for SV, thought later maybe we had planned to spend a SGL on it, but once shields are in, save it for later.

Researched Synthetic Fibers, Microchip, Robotics, started Supersonic Flight

Tibet is close to wiping out the Aztecs.

Deals with India expire in 2 and 7 turns. We need the stuff (Aluminum, Oil, Rubber) so time to find something to sell them again. It won't be long before we have to buy uranium for the SS pieces which need it. (if any, haven't looked at resource requirements for SS)

Note, we can't build Internet or WWW because not enough cities. Beyond SV it's just spaceship parts, right? Or would Hoover and a manufacturing plant speed up the SS parts?

Manufacturing plant and nuclear plant would each add 25% IIRC; hoover I honestly don't know if it affects the city it's in further than a hydro plant would.

Got it....

Tibet and Aztecs signed a peace treaty, then Tibet sent troops in our direction. His SOD includes 9 leatherneck and 11 riflemen. A few other units also approach, but will be 1 turn behind the SOD. I upgraded all of our military, and prepared for the attack.

On the turn Tibet would attack, India first asked for MPP. Of course, we accept his offer. Tibet attacks, triggering the MPP. Our lone TOW Infantry defeats 16 attackers before our two Eastern Infantry step in for one kill each. The 19th attacker defeats our TOW, and the last in the stack pillages. A replacement TOW is on its way, but our two Infantry will have to hold for one turn. We ally the Aztecs to draw some of Tibet's forces away from our city.

Our infantry defeat 5 more attackers. Our TOW arrives, and we order production of two battle tanks, which will be later upgraded to T-90. Tibet is spent, and we easily pick of the few units they send each turn.

Noticing again how close India is to 50K, I dedide to play a few more turns. In 1820 AD, they reach that mark. Unfortunately for us, Tibet does not have at least half as much culture.

We have suffered a 'humiliating' defeat. :(

This has been a great game. I have definitely enjoyed it. Our victory was a mere 12 to 15 turns away.

Oh... we did get yet another SGL.

This was out of our hands I'm afraid. to everyone for the great game, we were seriously on a run. I don't have CIV, but I'll keep an eye open for OCC games on this side of the forum ;)
