Math07: 50K or bust

Always best to maximise growth. More citizens equals more shields. I'll check out the save later, if I get a chance.

Either DaveShack or Own is up. I'm not too concerned, as I won't be able to pick it up again until Monday.

If neither do, I'll skip them both and play tomorrow.

2150 BC (40, this set turn 0) OK
2110 BC (41) exploring, nothing really new
2070 BC (42) Inca start building Oracle
2030 BC (43) exploring
1990 BC (44) exploring, Seoul grows, MM for growth
IBT: Inca demand writing. We're in no position to refuse :(
1950 BC (45)
Now that Inca have writing and have started trading it, not much choice but to trade it too
Netherlands CB+Wheel+2g <-> Writing
Sumeria Mysticism <-> Writing
Iroquois Iron Working <-> Writing+5g
1910 BC (46) exploring
1870 BC (47) Sumerians building the Oracle
Pyongyang would riot, so hire a scientist. Cuts CoL down to 8
1830 BC (48) exploring
1790 BC (49) Dutch start building Colossus
1750 BC (50) exploring

Here's Own's turnlog in case anyone doesn't have Word or the capability to open the files.

Pre-turn- Seoul works a forest for a turn instead of an unmined grassland, we still grow in two, and we get two extra shields.

1. Do’h! I miscounted, I thought we had 6 excess food, but we only had 5 :mad: .
2. Send warriors done with exploring back to Pyongyang for MP.
3. Seoul grows to size eight
4. zzz
5. CoL > Philosophy. Trade CoL to Inca for math and HR
6. Worker mines grassland, moves to mine other grassland.
7. Switch Pyongyang from Gran to settler to grab that iron. The AI are closing in on us, granary isn’t worth it.
8. Pyongyang Setter > worker (no more land, 50k city needs assistants)
9. zzz
10. MMed, so next player can hit enter.

OK, got it.

1425 BC (3)
Wonsan founded >> Warrior

1375 BC (5)
IT: Byzantines extort Mathematics
Philosophy >> Republic >> Literature

1300 BC (8)
Inca has moved two warriors into mountain next to Pyongyang. Demand that they leave, and they declare.

IT: One warrior attacks, killing one defender. A second defender had just arrived and was not fortified, but the second Incan warrior does not attack.

So then, from bad to worse. To be honest, I lost interest in this game a week ago. The glamour of 50K in one city quickly faded when I realized the game should play very much like any 20K game would.

So ...? Are we going to continue or not? :confused:

Ever since last weekend when the knowledge CivIV was almost out and right up to now when I'm playing it, I've forgotten all about my CivIII SGs'.

I wouldn't mind playing this one up until it was obvious that we'd hit the 50k mark, but probably not beyond. Once we know we'll have enough culture the rest of the turns are rather boring and drawn out. In other words, I could continue this or not. It's up too everyone else.

Well, since this one is similar to 20k, and it's even an emp 20k, I don't have much interest to go on ...
