If you take the last city of a civ, you don't get extra points?

Extra points in terms of what? If you mean score, then you get score each turn for teh number of tiles you control and the number of happy, content & specialist citizens. You will get extra points for taking the last city, but no more than for taking any other city.

Yo king, the foreighn advisor reffered the french as your friend becasue you broke off the allince(thusly, he thought he they we're you're friend).

As for the conquest thing, I'd chose China if you're a newbie, there jsut great every way possible). Aztecs are also awsome, and the persians/ottomans are a good fit too.

im currently playing a game as the dutch.
i just finished a small war with the koreans in which i managed to get all but one of their colonies on my island for my self.
now i only share my island with.. thats rite.. the FRENCH!
im about to get rid of them (hopefully)
they must really hate me by now
