Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

"Kanada"? Nubia? I don't know where you got it from, but it certainly doesn't come from MEM or any of its patches/scenarios :p Good to hear the mod is working on Mac, after all :)

And then I go and over extend myself. Had half of Europe and North Africa at war with England, so I conceded. Next time I'm definitely going to focus on conquering Scotland and Ireland, then focusing on trade and culture.

Now don't tell VMXA, but his cities along with Snoopy's Terrain improves the feel of the Scenario. Now I wouldn't recommend the look for a standard game of Civ III, but for a medieval period or fantasy scenario the look is just right.

Lessons Learned?

Catapults are crap.

Camel units are gnarly bastards.

Don't be surprised if Serbian cities show up in North Africa.

Explore and colonize mainland Europe as soon as you can (English)

Bottle up the Scots in the far north (English)

Establish a city in Ireland (English)

Barracks are your friend.

Having the capital of the Holy Roman Empire is cool.

More tidbits as I run across them. :D

And then they made it just about impossible for Mac users to mod. That is so control freak it's not even funny.
As someone who closely followed the posts by one of the lead people on the Mac port team for C3 I have to say that from their perspective it was lack of time/financial resources, not a lack of desire to make a fully functional port. The same is most likely true of the Aspyre team as well.

Great Mod! But I think you should add berserkers with hidden nationality for denmakr & sweden and should have hidden nationality for the longships to show how the vikings raided everything without actually being at war with a nation.

You should do that yourself, it's very simple. I don't think they'll rerelease the whole thing just for a change this small.

i'm here just to say that this is the best mod i have ever played
thank you and congratulations for doing such a nice mod

This may have been answered, but I am having trouble installing this mod.
I get a message saying "error reading file"

It says the problem is with "./Conquests Game Data\text\Pedialcons.txt":
ICON_BLDG_GW_Kingdom_of_England

I looked at the pedialcons.txt file and found the kingdome of england part and it seems identical to all the others in the area.
can anyone help me?

A screenshot may be helpful but that error generally means the mod is not in the correct folder.

The location of the BIQ should be:
Conquests Game Data/Scenarios/MEM.biq

The location of the PediaIcons.txt should be:
Conquests Game Data/Scenarios/MEM/Text/PediaIcons.txt

(i.e. make sure there's one MEM folder, and not two like MEM/MEM)

Thanks for the advice.
I finally got things working.
Was I foolish to manually transfer all of the files from the update 1.3 mem folder into the 1.0 mem folder?
Maybe its the software I was using to unzip things, but I just couldn't get it straight what I had to do.
Anyway, now things are working and it is truly a lovely mod!
thanks again.

Never mind, I read the year wrong, but do you know how to fix the barbarian bug? I remembered I read it here about a month or so, but I forgot the page since I read this forum so intensively.
