A set of female medieval spy models, one for each BtS ethnic group.

I made these model to improve my skills in custom animation making. I started with the European Spy and modified the Ancient Spy animation set in order to get rid of the staff and to to give extra animations to the sleeves and the cape to minimize clipping glitches. Since this was a lot of work in the end I decided to make some more models that use at least some of the added features, bringing me to a whole ethnic set of spies.

Enjoy! :)

These are superb, thank you.

Awesome .
These are superb, thank you.
Thanks guys, my pleasure. :)
Never thought about the spies, but now it strikes me too, the spies are not appropriate in most of the eras and for most of the civs.
So good work, i'm sure it will be widely used.
Yep, they are rather overlooked when it comes to stuff like this. On the other hand it is of course rather convenient for a spy to not give away his origin just by his looks, but since there is no way to see enemy spies in the orignal BtS it should be alright to give them an ethnic appearance.

Might be a problem for some mods thou... :mischief:

Any possibility of teamcoloring them? Pehaps the white parts on the Native American one, the blue on the European and the black on the other two?

Three of them are in fact already teamcolored (Asian: The flower pattern on the dressed leg; European: The cape, can't be seen that good in the 'pedia because of the shader; Native Amercian: The belt, a bit darker however to give it a more natural look).

The problem with teamcoloring the Middle East spy's black dress is that it also works partially with transparency, which does not go well with teamcolor. But I could instead teamcolor her boots, her wristlet or the small skull she wears on her left shoulder if you like.

Don't worry about it, if there is already teamcolor involved that's fine. Good work, these ladies look fantastic. :goodjob:
Thank you very much. :)

Lovely stuff

especially the spy in a burqa

much better than the one i made
Thanks, although it is certainly no burqa she is wearing. You can't see it in the screenshot, but the left side of her dress is much more revealing than the right one.

These are fantastic and I will certainly use them.

I'll throw this out there, take it or leave it, but I am in real need of a model for a Hashashin, a medieval era Arabian spy that I want to use as a second UU for Arabia. If you feel inspired and would like to take a crack at it, I would be forever indebted to you. :)

I don't think there were any women Hashashins or else I would use your female. :)

What a fabulous new addition these will make to BAT! Thank you Sai.

Beautiful work, as always. :)

Sorry to get a little off topic but Lemon Merchant, where did you get all the cool city and building art that I see in your "I'm so mad at you" screenshot?

And of course, SaibotLieh this is a very unique and interesting set of spy units. Did you use 3dsMax or Blender to make the animations?

Thanks again for the kind words.

The problem here is that I didn't create the model myself, I just converted it from another game. Searching the game files for good models take quite some time, so I normally concentrate one the for me interesting ones. But I'll keep your request in mind.

For the case I'll find a suitable model, what animation set should it use?

I'm delighted to hear so. :)

I used Blender for the animation. So far I did not create any from scratch, but modified the existing ones. Takes some effort to learn, but then it is a rather straight forward process.

I think that is from BAT 2.3. The art itself comes from GeoModder's Cultural CityStyles, a vital component in BAT. :)

nice work, i will probably include a tweaked version of the middle eastern spy in MoM, although in a different role :)

Sure, use the unit as you like. Using my units for other purposes is no problem for me, it's rather the reverse in fact. :)
