Cool, thanks for the heads up! I never played the Total War series until Rome (well I did try Shogun but never got caught) and Medieval does seem to be a nice game.:)

The thread on Total War has a scary list of processors that are not supported.

*sigh* yet another thing to sap the life out of me. Once I finish my ISEB exam I'll download it. whats the specs?

So far it's working fine for me :)

Only played the tutorial, was fun, though the first thing I noted was that, at last, forests actually look like forests. Everything seems like a natural progression from RTW, which means that so far I think I'm right in saying I would have enjoyed the original Medieval had it been using a better engine.

Though, as I say, I've only played the tutorial :p . Obviously I must continue researching this game extensively tommorow.

I played the battle of Pavin before I went to sleep, I won, with a unit of militia and a battered unit of heavy inf. We still had less losses than the french. Amazingly.

How? I still had most my Army left....:/ one unit broke, and that was urban Militia I think...damn Spaniards broke about 5 mins in too..*mutter*

heh, yes that flank attack can catch you out. Pause it look around then decide what you want to do. (in my case charge! kill knights, wheel counter flank)

I say charge, cause I have just seen what a couple of direct cannonball hits will do to your pikeman...40-60 gone :(

I wish this demo had more gameplay besides the battles.

Pretty much par for the course when it comes to Total War, I'm afraid. It would have been nice if it featured a limited campaign - even just a small part of the map to play on to get a small feel for it.

Agreed. Which makes me worry about the rest of the game. Also what was in the OVER FIVE HUNDRED (500) MEGABYTES I downloaded?

The campaign map section of the game will probably be very similar to RTW. The only thing I'm looking for is an improvement to AI and more generated battles on hillier terrain.

AMD cpus are not supported? This must be one of the worst business decissions i have heard of in a while. Or do they intend to fix it in the full game?
