Meet the Modders

Finally logged back in after quite a few years. Good to see a lot of familiar names still hanging about.
Wow. :hatsoff:

As Vuldacon says, this Real Life thing keeps interfering with what would otherwise be 24/7 videogames, (minus sleeping time).

To my chagrin I have found out the hard way that the reward you get for passing exams is to get to take more exams and when you've passed enough exams you have to take a job instead.

I've also found out (Sid forgive me) that there are games not made by Firaxis worth playing.

For the second year in a row i'll be participating in a charity run for breast cancer research - the Cleveland Clinic's Tuohy Vaccine.

Last year they raised about $15,000 with a one hour run. That's me, bringing up the rear.

Blue Monkey... YAVW (You Are Very Welcome)... abbreviations :crazyeye:
We all do not know every abbreviation and some of us, such a me, do not use Cell Phones or Text messages. I assume that is basically where the abbreviations come from.
Besides, there are people that do not speak English as well and they will not understand abbreviations.
Anyway, Great Image and Benevolent Endeavor to Help Others :)

True, true. Bad habit I picked up from in-game chat in World of Warcraft. Forgot when I post here I'm back in the land of the literate. A lot the same as when other anthropologists come back from the field (in a remote isolated community) and have to remember how to speak and behave in their home community. :P

Blue Monkey... It's OK. We all live in a "Different World" that we "see" through our own eyes... and what we get into habitually.
...sometimes I get peeved about abbreviations and especially if I do not know them

I bet it is Fun to do the Charity you are doing... Looks Great and it is a Very Helpful cause.
You have always been a Good Guy and I wish you well. Good Karma.

I haven't disappeared off the face of the planet (yet). Only became a professional academic.

My, my, I hadn't realized you hadn't posted since last year. Time flies when things are going on in life! But I'm glad to hear that you're now a professional academic! That sounds like a good, positive step forward?

Same here. My Technical career has made me the VP of MS SQL Server for a major global bank, and on the side, I've spun up what I hope will be a successful career as a published author. Glad to see so many recognizable names still active here. )
