Meet the Modders

Looks like i am way past famous by now,

since a fourth magazine has printed a story by me, without even telling me it would do so...

:?

Anyway, i will go buy the magazine tomorrow and hope they have not massacred my original wording...

A fifth is pending, but they have already contacted me to say it will be part of their contents.

I'm in Korea again. This time doing fieldwork. No modding productions from me for a while. ;)

Well, don't feel too bad, Ogedei:

In case anyone missed it, I'm getting married Saturday, and will be immediately going on our honeymoon.... We'll be going to a place where Hogwarts, Port Royal, and several countries are within 30 minutes drive of each other. ;)

After that, I'll be closing a deal on a house I'm buying, so I won't be around much for the next several weeks either.

You won't be around? How could you possibly think of buying a basement-less place? :shake:

Just got the magazine, story and name is there. Strange. I emailed them to thank for the publication.
They probably either forgot to notify me, or it is common practice in their magazine to not notify writers they co-operate with for the first time.

What's more important, did they pay?

Well at least now i can add to the names mentioned in my biographical note in the book i am sending around. That is something.
Also this last 'success' marks my first ever publication in an athenian outlet. The rest have been circulating around the country too, but were based in the north.

Also worthy of note is that another athenian magazine turned down the very same story this one published, going on about some notion of "improving" the story. Of course i did no such thing. Those people need to get out of the imagination that they have been co-operating with Proust and Dostoevsky. My work is far better than the garbage they print (end of rant).

I also wrote two new stories, with which i am happy with :) Must be above 10.000 pages now in my work, dominated by my diary.

Been notified that a periodical will publish my work for a second time in its next issue, thus making it 6 publications since last October. Also there is the possibility that they will become 8 or 9 until this October, due to some other prospects and near-deals :)

Yeah, although the additions are infinitesimal for the time being... Still, if i reach nearly 10 publications in a year (in the first year) it won't be bad at all :)

2 more publications in yet other magazines, but those two are really small periodicals... Also i took part in another lit contest, now two are pending result :)

There exists a possibility that one of my works will be circulating in Paris (and some other francophone parts like Brussels), through a greek-french magazine.
After London, Paris. Sounds a big deal, but it is only magazines still :S

Gojira's claims to fame (nowhere near as much as The Great Kyriakos):

- When I was 10, I entered an art contest, won first prize, got to meet Jim Davis (creator of Garfield), Charles Schulz (creator of Peanuts), and then LA Mayor Tom Bradley, and got to join in Hands Across America.

- When I was 12, I wrote a short story and submitted it to Twilight Zone magazine, and it was published.

- When I was 15 I wrote a rather lengthy poem and had it published in a book of poems.

- When I was 17 I was at a Guitar Center up in Hollywood, just goofing around an a guitar, when none other than Eddie Van Halen walked up and said "here let me show you a few tricks" and played for me for about a minute. I was incapable of speech.

- When I was 18 I wrote a letter to then president Bill Clinton, and got a personalized and autographed letter back.

- When I was 21 I literally walked right into JFK Jr outside a convention in San Diego, knocking him accidentally to the ground.

Living in Southern California, I have countless "Star Sightings" too.

Back on my university coursework again. Was pretty busy before, now I'm just insanely busy. Still check in from time to time, of course. And wondering when I can have more leisure time to get around to fiddling with Blender and making some new creations.

i have not been here much as I have been working to get my WW2 simulation game finished. While I am still finishing working on the rules, I already have an order from a college history department for 2 complete games, and a recommendation from the professor that I put the game into production, so I am going to be busy for a while yet.

Good luck on your game TimeRover! I'd love to see it.

I've been recruited to work (volunteer) for the Rancho Santa Margarita Historical Society. It seems I used to work with the President many years ago, and all my local research for OCR has gotten their attention. This may be useful.
