Met any celebrities?

My Aunt used to be engaged to David Sedaris' brother, Paul. She broke up with him, but we still go to his house most Christmases to visit and catch up.

i did a small favour for laurie anderson once ,she gave me tickets to her show and we talked about lou reed,i briefly met lou reed once but we didn't talk

I've aslo met half a dozen hollywood movie stars, but unfortunately they were just aussie actors at the time, so weren't famous

The closest I've come to a celebrity encounter is meeting the hosts of "Out of the box" at a mall when I was little.
However, my Dad has met two presidents (Nixon and LBJ), and Joe Arpaio.

Me and my buddy saw Michael Myers (think "groovy baby" not "knife in the face") downtown one time. He waved and smiled when we called to him and in that moment looked exactly like Wayne. It was good.

I've never met anyone that famous, but I know a bunch of people that have met famous people and have good stories to tell too. I figure my time will come around soon. It's not uncommon around here. (Nashville, where all the country music people live)

you probally have met someone famous, they just didn't tell you,

Being the president of the United States, I meet a lot of famous people.

I met Willie McCovey when I was very very young

According to my parents I once played with Barry Bonds' kids at the Discovery Museum.

Met and had my picture taken with Tim Lincecum

Aside from that, I'm sure I've met a couple, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Yeah, I can't think of any, though I swore I've met at least one...

Maybe it will come back to me if I think about it.

By virtue of my work experience (I've been a sportswriter and have done a lot of political work), I've met several high up Ohio pols (Govs, AGs, Senators, ex-pols, etc), and still have a working dialogue with a few of them.

I've got a few athletes in my cell phone, although I think Nick Swisher would be the only one some of you guys have heard of.

The only other "nationally" famous person I've done more than handshake is Bob Woodward, who went on a few double dates with my dad back in the day (my dad was his wingman). We caught up a book signing in DC a few years ago, and he gave me a signed book.

Yeah, actually quite a few.....

Barbara Streisand when I was a little boy. She bot a collie from my mom's best friend. she wore daisy dukes and a tank top and was very friendly. Mid 60's time frame. I remember thinking she was pretty, but not much else...not that I knew who she was til I got older...

Jerry Seinfeld during the last season his show was on the air. He bought a Porsche at the dealership I worked at. He came in and talked to all of us. He was friendly, non-assuming, and a genuine nice guy. His agent was a slave driver...but I guess thats what he gets paid for lol

Lucy Lee Flippin (she is a character actor most known for being Eliza Jane Wilder on Little House on the Prairie. She bought a car from me. Very Very nice woman. Polite, Friendly. a genuine person.

Christopher McDonald (one of the roles hes best known for is Shooter McGavin on Happy Gilmore) ha bought an Audi through his agent, and needed some help calculating what he needed to write off on his taxes. Came by to see if someone could give him a hand. Talked to him a few times. Nice guy.

General Norman Schwarzkopf. Old Stormin Norman spoke at My BNCOC class in the army and had lunch with us. A good motivational speaker. ;) (for those whove had the pleasure of hearing him...:D )

King Hussein of Jordan (may he rest in peace). I was in Jordan on a joint military excercise in the late 80's and had to do a presentation on some military hardware we were offering to sell to the Jordanian army. He was an intelligent man, with a ready smile. Kind hearted and easy going. Charismatic.

I also met Dave of 'Wendy's' fame. He gave me and a friend of mine coupons for free burgers at Wendy's. :D

Cullen G. Chambers, who's the stunt double for Samuel Jackson. Sold him a car as well. Great Guy.

Spike Feresten (writer for Sienfeld, Saturday Night Live, Dennis Miller etc...) bought an Audi from me.

Daniel J. Schneider who was the principal on the tv series 'Head of the Class'. I met him at an auto show in Los Angeles where he was talking to me about the VW Campers, we chatted for about a half an hour. nice guy.

Dale Jarrett (the nascar driver who won the winston cup a few years back)...I work for him now and see him about 3 times a month...lol Nice guy.

Steve Smith of The Carolina Panthers. Hes a jerk. wouldnt give us the time of day when he stopped at our dealership a few years ago. had the 'you're beneath me' attitude.

on the flip side

LaDainian Tomlinson of The Chargers (now probably Patroits if I remember my recent NFL news) Is a good guy. honest and sincere. met us fans and didnt give us any attitude.

These are the ones that stand out..but there are quite a few more.

My belief is to treat them as I would treat any other person. In fact, I go out of my way to not fawn over them. I treat them with respect and try not to be an annoying fan.

I also got the chance to see Glenn Close, wel... up close. She came onto the ship I was on as a special guest and was getting a briefing right outside of the space where I worked. I had to step out and pass by her. She is another short person. Later, she cameo'd on our XO's comedy skit that he would do for us. Those were hilarious... and her cameo was a parody of Fatal Attraction. The XO was called out of his office, and when he returned, he exclaimed, "Who is sitting in my chair?" The chair spun around and it was Glenn Close. Hilarious!!!

Some other celebs... I almost met Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton from Screensavers. They were doing a meet and greet at a local Best Buy, but the line to see them was far too long! I have met a couple local celebs where I live at. Kirk McEwen from 98 Rock (at the time, now on DC 105.9 the edge) and Mickey Cucchiella (a local comedian and the current 98 rock morning show host... well, one of them, anyway).

I saw Vladimir Putin getting into a limo and his motorcade passed in front of the cafe I was in. I have a picture to prove it but can't post it right now.

Doesn't count as 'meeting' but whatever.

In order of impressiveness:

1) Jimmy Carter's watched me play croquet.
2) I've taken Roger Bannister's shopping to his car.
3) My parents live next door to the former manager of Hearts.

Dee Snider of Twisted Sister is my neighbor.

I never understood celebrity worship. I have never met anyone, nor have any desire to.

I'm just as good as any celebrity. They should lament the fact they never got the opportunity to meet me. I sound like an arrogant sob, so be it. But I am as good as any celebrity.
