preturn: looking good. I am especially glad to see we almost control the eastern choke.

However, we are too much on infra. Most of those are on universities which I cannot even switch.

Rush walls in Omi.

We need more workers. We have only 10 native ones, and some BGs are not improved.

Nagova is working at 14 spt. Fix it to be 15 spt. Adjust Osaka and Kyoto's shields too.

IBT our GA ended.

(1)660AD: Greece drops a longbow next to Yokohama, which is empty. Not only that, two nearby towns are also empty! There is only ONE pike that could move to it this turn. I hope everyone is careful about defense, please. Our core is almost completely undefended. What good does 3-tile spacing do if you have no defenders at all?

I move the pike into Yokohama. I hope we stand against the longbow! It even has our Pentagon.

Oh wait, I just find we can move a sword army into it. :D

I rush two sams.

I stop workers improving our front cities and move them back to our core. If they are roading, fine, but mining corrupt cities while leaving our core unimproved???

We have a sam army only filled with 2 sams.. :hmm:

IBT we lose pike to longbow. [0-1]

(2)670AD: Our elite horse kills a longbow and generates a leader.

Mic6-670AD.jpg

Just noticed we have built FP in Osaka, which is closest to our capital???? It gives almost no benefit to us. So the leader forms an army.

Kill 8 more longbows and an MDI. [10-1]

(3)680AD: Kill JT, 2 spears, AC and 7 longbows. [21-1]

(4)690AD: Sword army kills spear and autorazes Emar. [22-1]

Sam army and MDI army kills 2 longbow+2 spear and raze Kodesh and gain 4 slaves. [26-1] This is a city we want to settle.

(5)700AD: I lost the count of kills and I think I'll just stop counting them.

(6)710AD: Raze Tyrana.

(7)720AD: ZZZ

(8)730AD: found Kozuke on furs - I thought it was ivory by mistake, thus it's 4-tiles form the nearest town. But it got rid of the forest which is good for killing.

(9)740AD: capture Hubishna and we've got ivory.

(10)750AD: ZZZ

Note: I'd like to take out Hitties so those armies shoud try to go east (maybe raze Adana first). I'm also sending MDI army to pillage. It should pillage toward Greece.

I'm mostly building musketmen as we are really short of them. Do not ignore military.

Some armies have only 3 units. We can wait for cavs in about 9 turns.

Got it, will play most likely Sunday night US Eastern time.

It does increase our OCN. It does not give us a second core anyways in C3C and was easy to handbuild during our GA. An earlier close FP is better than a late remote one.

It still matters for distance corruption. I would delay FP a bit other than building it in an aweful place.

sorry for the many infra builds, but we need science somewere. when they're finished, we can fully concentrate on military (except for banks). however, i regret the one in tokyo myself because it's not on fresh water.
caught myself starting senseless mining, obviously didn't made me as careful at it should have.
everytime i started a musket, i changed it to sam because it's a bit more shields for an additional movement. with cav coming, we can use the sams as defenders. sorry for not filling the army, i needed the sams elsewhere.

T1. 760 AD Settler is build going to fill empty space between our and hittite's land.
Sword Army kills longbow
MDI Army pillages and kills a spear.
Elite Samurai attacks kills longbow and leader we have. I am going to create an empty army and wait for cavalry to fill it in. Right now we don't even have enough spare samurais for the army.
Lot's of worker moves... We need more workers near our western cities... lots of tile there are not improved.
Army raises Mayan's city on it's way to Hittite's land. French have a settler pair in NW tundra corner.
T2. 770 AD. Kill french spear and enslaved a settler. Killed few enemy troops.
Another elite win and we have another leader...

IBT. Greek have built Leonardo.
T3. 780AD I keep postponing moving on hittites. Greeks are showing up with knights, crusafers and A.Cavs. so my armies are busy destroying those. Captured jungle mayan city
T4 790 AD. Elite win and another leader... not bad, pretty good RNG luck isn't it... problem is.. we don't have units to feel all those armies and i don't really want until we get cavalry.
T5. 800AD. killed few enemies... pillaged Hittites land. army finally reached greeks to pillage. New Osaka is founded.

T6. 810AD. killing pillaging and building more samurais

T7. 820AD killing, pillaging and captured hittites city of Ugarit.

T8 830AD same as above and also captured hittites city of Adana

T9 840AD. same as above MT is researched banking in 7 turns. pillaged greek iron, but they have more.

T10. 850AD. Upgraded elite* samurai to cavalry. Have left few workers and army moves for the next player.
We have up 4 armies ready to take Hittite's capital. MDI army should pillage everything possible in greek land.

Post turn thoughts: Actually, we don't need to research much... We can simply shutdown all research and do nothing but pumping and cash rushing cavalries.. This game will be over soon.
There is a present for the next player - 3 empty armies waiting to be filled with cavalry.

That's all folks and here is the save.

I see it. Time to have fun with a few Cav Armies. I can already see them marching through the Arc de Triomphe.

i think we should continue research until steam (or factories).

Not really.... it will just prolong the game...
In reallity they way things turned out we don't need even cavalry.
Samurai can level all AIs on this map in no time, but since we have cavalry I suggest to stop research, switch all non essential cities on produsing wealth.
Cash rush as many cavalries a turn as we can and keep pressing until conquest is achieved... It will take much less time than researching steam power...

@Grs, don't you think that is the way to go?

I can not say which will be faster without looking at the save. Since this is no competition for fastest win, I'd say it does not matter much. The game will be over soon with or without research anyways, so we can just chose what we like more. Do we do conquest or domination anyways?

i vote for conquest, seems the way to go for an AW game.

@dmanakho:
i wish you suggested the stop research before i started all those unis...

@el_filet... It's okay.... We didn't realize things will turn around so fast...
There is no much of AI resistance except the Greece at the moment.
During my turns i saw nothing both longbows and few greek knights.
If we start mass producing and cash rushing units game will be won before we get any good use of steam power and rails.

Conquest or domination are both fine for me....

"All those unis"..how many of them? Even if we still do research, we should mostly build units at this stage.

I didn't see any university builds in progress during my turns..
I only build samurais and few muskets in our productive cities and settlers and few temples in border cities which can be changed to something else.
