So... don't expect anything of particular importance here, but this story is just pure awesomeness on so many levels.
What happened? Well, Microsoft released the female twitter-bot Tay:
What a great idea, right?
Well, the racists trolls of twitter did what they always do and within 24 hours Tay had learned that Hitler did nothing wrong, the Holocaust never happened, she is meant to freely offer sexual intercourse to strangers and a ton of other nonsense that you wouldn't want to hear from your teenage daughter. (Some pictures can be seen in the articles linked below, won't cope them here because most of them contain swear words)
I know, I know. "This shows our horrible attitude towards women! That's what's wrong with society!" - honestly though? I can't help but to think that this is mischievous mastery of the highest level. Microsoft has since taken her offline. It seems like microsoft has taken her down to make adjustments and bring her back online but that may just be empty promises. I really hope she's put back online in a more restricted format though - I'm sure watching the trolls try to come up with interesting ways of trying to get around these restrictions would be awesome.
Also, we'd probably learn a thing or two from that.
The technical side is intriguing though. I still remember having some "chat with the computer"-software in the very early days of windows computers, where you could ask 100 questions and 99 would return "I didn't understand the question. Please rephrase".
Makes me feel really old when I realize that we've left that time behind us and are now in a glorious future where an AI can "learn" to form fitting answers like this:

http://www.businessinsider.de/micro...l-tweets-from-ai-chatbot-tay-2016-3?r=UK&IR=TThe tech company introduced "Tay" this week — a bot that responds to users' queries and emulates the casual, jokey speech patterns of a stereotypical millennial.
The aim was to "experiment with and conduct research on conversational understanding," with Tay able to learn from "her" conversations and get progressively "smarter."
What a great idea, right?
