MLDR005 NOW what?

I got it, I'll be playing Friday morning (EST). I'll try to take a look at it tonight and post with any questions I have.

Guys, I'm having issues. I can play the rest of 1400 AD (catapulting some Sumerian ships and swapping the Scientist in Berlin to Entertainer), but after the inter-turn, my computer locks up.

I don't think it's the save, as I was able to load the game on my laptop, and I was able to get past that point ... but I can't play Civ on my laptop because it can't handle the stress of the game (took twenty minutes to process the interturn). I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my PC all morning (I've even reinstalled Civ, PTW, Conquests, and the service pack), but no luck :(

So unfortunately I'll have to be skipped ... I am out of pocket until next Saturday starting tomorrow, and I don't foresee having the time to fix my PC before then.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take a hammer to my PC

Notes:We have 4 Galleons and 5 Friagtes in Lagos. There are 2 empty armies, 6 infantry, and 8 arty that are built up.

Another army is due in 2, some more frigates are building and Hoover is due in 12.

preturn: fix riot in Berlin. We need to irrigate corrupt towns but we need to finish railroading first..

Blacktown can steal a BG from Farawarfromportugal and complete Hoover one turn earlier.

Our military is still very thin. Only 8 cossacks and 11 infantry.

I want to mobolize after Hoover is completed but we have no Nationalism..we need to buy it from Greece at some points.

One thing that worries me is Sumeria has 44298 culture points. We need to send army overseas asap. Armies can start pillaging. I switch infantry to cossacks so we can do that. We have two empty armies and due in 2 turns, and a 2-knight army. So my plan is to send a cossack army and the knight army to pillage, and two infantry army to hold our beachhead.

(1)1405AD: Sumeria has 44765cp. It's 467cpt. It's a culture win within 119 turns. It's capital is 7236cp.

I wake up workers cleaning jungle which no city is working on. On the other hand, convert some irrigation to mines in our core.

IBT I see Sumerian DESTROYER! :( We caught Sumeria spy.

(2)1410AD: frigate is sunk by destroyer beside Novosibirsk.

(3)1415AD: Looks like Novosibirsk isn't a safe route. I send boats back to Lagos and land all armies from there. I had wanted to send cossack armies in the north which is closer to core..

IBT 4 frigates attack our boats and we lose 2 frigates. Our two galleons are injured! Sumeria also lands 3 cav/3 infantry on the island by a transport.

(4)1420AD: Refining is due in 14 turns. I hire some scientists to bring it to 13 turns.

IBT we lose a galleon to destroyer with 3 artillery. On the island we lose two infantry but Sumeria loses

(5)1425AD: Kill a cav on the island. There are two redlined cavs next to one town defended by a vet knight, and the other infantry next to a town defended by an infantry..

I rush galleon in Yekaterinburg to be able to reinforce the island again, given it's not sunk by another destroyer..

(6)1430AD: kill cav and infantry and there is only one infantry left on the island.

Note that Ur is 7489cp.

(7)1435AD: Ur is 7617cp. It's 128cpt! 20K win in 98 turns!

(9)1445AD: IBT lose a frigate.

(10)1450AD: Our fleet is bombarded by bombers! Fortunately no loss. Another small landing on island.

We land on 3 more armies (one empty and cannot be filled completely next turn).

Load some reinforcement to deal with the landing, but the galleon might lose again..

Note: We need to send two or three cossack armies to pillage. I haven't found a beachhead city yet, as I only have one infantry army there. We need at least two, and rush rax in the first turn.

I feel we are too late in doing this. We should have sent over to pillage much earlier. I thought we'd do this in my last turns, but seems not much has been done in this area (we did build some boats but not enough). Sumeria is close to getting tanks (probably in next 10 turns).

We have to destroy Sumeria's core within 90 turns.

Also, I've been building stock exchanges in our core. Our economy really sucks and can only research a tech in 14 turns.

Make sure to escort our galleons with enough frigates (like 8 or more). It's good to send more galleons in one shot to avoid losses.

Workers still need to irrigate our north towns and we need to hire as many scientists as possible. It makes a big difference.

OK, we have the landing, now we need to make it stick. We need to get the armies over there and get things going. Tanks and Flight would be nice as well. This one may come down to the wire.

OK, we'll do that, considering your situation, although I'm facing something of a feast myself and it won't be a quick turnaround. In fact, anyone who can play in the next 36 hours or so is welcome to jump ahead of me.
 
I can get to this on Thursday, or possibly maybe tomorrow, but I do not know. If el_filet can take it for sure, he is welcome.
 
It looks like I can get to this Thursday morning. I might not pursue the attack/landing, it might be a lot more builder on my part.
 
I only got through three turns so far.
IBT: Our ships are bombed, Bremen is shelled. Kill 3 cavs, lose a galleon.
Turn 1: We build the hoover dam. Kill 2 infantry on our little Island. We are paying unit support, so I will disband some of our cats, but keep the foreigns for upgrading. A whole ton of MM. Irrigating our corrupt lands and hiring some scientists. Kill 2 infantry with our armies over in Sumeria.
IBT: Sell our coal plants. Our shores are bombarded. Kill a cav in Sumeria. Lose an infantry., lose our knight army, and the empty army. Arghh. They bombed the knight army all the way down so a 1 hp infantry was the top defender.
Turn 2: Decide to pull some deals with Greece, give them Sci method for 3 gold, free artistry and WM. Give them atomic theory for nationalism. Knock a turn off of refining. Unit support is now even.
IBT: The Sumerians land a stack of 6 cavs, and the greeks throw one of their two units on our soil at it. Archer army kills a cav. Pop an MGl with a horse on the cavs.

What to do with the MGL? I am thinking Infantry Army, so we can have 2 infantry armies over the pond. The bombers are making it really suck for us. I am thinking of gifting the Greeks the corporation to help us out, and maybe they do some research for us.
 
I have an idea now. The Greeks have espianage and Commie. We should be able to trade for both. I think our best bet involves getting up the CIA, and bringing Lenin back to Russia.
I would immeadiatly trade for the Techs, rush the CIA with the Leader and revolt.
I will let the team weigh in, because I cannot play until tonight now anyway.

some courts in core would be needed. leader may be better invested in SPHQ, we'll need some time to get money for steals anyway.
 
Currently our "core" has about 5 cities. I am thinking of building the SPHQ in Berlin, as it is a very nice town, just corrupt as snot right now. With a court, it is still more then 50% corrupt.
CIA =400 shields
SPHQ= 200 shields
It is kind of a tossup as to which one we want to rush, but I would rather rush the CIA, so we have a chance to leaderfish in our almost guaranteed 7 turn anarchy.
 
I would build the CIA first. We should not exclude mobilization at some point. Even getting the steals to get us up to tanks and flight would make this a whole lot easier.
 
Turn 3: Trade Electronics and the Corporation to Greece, get Commie, Facism and Espianage. Rush the Cia in Berlin, rush and swap a few minor builds and wait 1 turn for the revolution.
IBT: The Sumerians waste a ton of cash on us, stealling our military plans. :)
turn 4: Draw the 7 turns. Refining actually takes the same amount of time. Kill a frigate lose a frigate.
IBT:
Turn 5: Lose anohter frigate. The Sumerian Nave is really hurting us
Turn 6: Kill one of those dang destroyers. Sumerians have tanks, but lack Atomic Theory.
Turn 7: Sumeria now has cruisers.
Turn 8: Went by quick
Turn 9: Not much
Turn 10: Greece and Sumeria sign peace, we get our armies bombed to oblivion in Sumer now. Must reup the greeks. Sumerians land 6 units. Time to have some fun. I use 2 sword armies, and an archer army to kill 4 infantry. :) Never useless. Clean up their cavs with elites, but no MGL.
Well I think our revolt is a good idea. We reasearch at 2/3 our former speed in Anarchy. The Production boost will be huge. I reupped the greeks. We send them iron, rubber, and 3 luxes to help prop them up now. Anarchy has 1 more turn to run.
I think it will be 20 more turns of building/catching up, then we apply the whupping stick to the sorry Sumerians.
