The Plan
Spoiler :
Well we had staked off some territory in the last set and this one was about:-
1. Get Great Library (for the CE getting a couple of GSs for Academies seems key)
2. Carry on Rexxing (with the Great Lighthouse all my coastal fill in cities wouldnt strain my economy)
3. Watch the Monty, Sury, Isabella relations. What I was hoping for was to join a dog-pile vs Isabella to get Diplo +s with Monty. However if it was just Monty Versus Isabella I would be wary of joining in case she bribed Sury against me as he had much better military than me.

Spoiler :
Well apart form no good opportunity to dog pile Isabella it want well albeit quietly
Expansion
Found Leptis, City 6 in 175BC
Found Thapsus in 50AD
Found Sicca in 200AD
Found Thaenae in 350AD
And my last city next to my capital a few turns later. 10 good cities is a nice sized empire but any further expansion will have to be via military or post astronomy.
Staking out territory aggressively last set had slowed my Research due to maintenance and heavily jungled cities but was now paying off as I got a nice large empire.
The other key event was getting the Great Library early (chopped in). The timing was crucial as if I havent rushed it my next GP would be a GP or GM from Stonehenge / Great Lighthouse in my capital delaying my academy.
However with beelining we got it built in time and the Academy was founded in 740AD. Here you can see my 10th city to the bottom left.
Research
Well I didnt achieve as much in tech trading as I would have liked as it felt like Sury was choosing the same techs to research as me initially and no opportunity had come up to boost relations with Monty enough for him to trade with me. I was surprised at how well he was teching but the RNGs had given him a nice capital.
Went Literature Maths Calendar (my outlying cities desperately needed Calendar to be productive).
Here I picked up Monotheism , Alphabet, Meditation, Archery and Priesthood in double trading with Sury and Isabella
The researched Currency, Code of Laws, Trade for Monarchy, Compass, Civil Service and Paper.
Only 1 quest which is the eminently forgettable Greed Quest. The only thing noteworthy in this screenshot is how Sury has initially placed his cities so that 1 tile is not in his culture and yes its a gold mine!!!
Only daft classic Civ mistake was not switching to HR as I was waiting for Civil Service and then forgetting to switch at same time as Bureaucracy.
So how are things looking quite healthy dare I say.

Plans for next set
Spoiler :
Well ignore the fact that I am researching Education, I am going to suspend the Liberalism race and go
Metal Casting, Machinery and build Macemen. Then on to Engineering for Trebs and attack the very weak Isabella. Two main aims
Get some CR3 Macemen who can be promoted to Rifles +
Bribe Monty into the war to get our relation sorted.
We will then return to the Rifling Beeline (slipping in caravels at some point).
