Arpinum is at happy limit and will grow in 1. no need to work that many farms. it produces 31 food and only needs 20, so work some cottages instead.
Just that one city puts astronomy in 9 instead of 10
1600AD (1):
cuzco: granadier -> granadier
tiwanaku: hindu missionary -> trabuchet
corihua: forge -> barracks
attack longbow at avar with maceman (84% odds) and lose (nice start)
another maceman (99%) kills axe
mace (99%) kills spear
knight finishes wounded longbow and americans are no more (didn't keep the city, wasn't woth it)
whip market at arpinum (3 pop) as it's unhappy plus it will grow in 1
unhappy at cuzco because of war was 4 before this turn and now it's 5. Maybe i have to wait a turn before it goes down.
1610AD (2):
cuzco happy again (can grow 2 more)
arpinum: market -> library
washington: terrace -> barrakcs (it's odd city, has good hammer potential, but has 2 towns on hills. how stupid of washington)
kill longbow at xian and lose highely promoted knight at 95% (that hurts)
finish the remaining spearman and take the city (decided to keep it, as it has 2 towns, silver, iron and sheep)
Beijing has only few units
But Guangzhau has plenty
kill lone longbow defending iron
1615AD (3):
our main force moves by Beijing. Only 3 chinese cities remaining.
1620AD (4):
i think we have enough units to finish off china, so set cuzco for grocer (in 2)
our caravel sinks peters caravel by cuzco
our granadier kills chinese elephant by gangzhau and mace finishes cat that elephant was guarding
kill another set of elephant/catapult by beijing
1625AD (5):
3 cats attack our small stack (2 die one retreats). Finish off the retreating one.
Couple courthouses done, and our gold goes from -20 to +3 (at 30% science)
capture beijing with loss of 1 knight (75%). We get 4 workers in return and keep the city.
Huamanga is founded
1630AD (6):
mostly move some units for preparation for final chinese blow
1635AD (7):
forbidden palace built and we are at +13 gold
another settler is complete at hungzhaou. I'll leave it for now for next player to decide where to place the city. we have plenty of good spots.
Nianjing has highly promoted longbowman that will make us lose some units. sacrifice trabuchet first and even now our city raider 3 mace has only 59% chance.
a knight takes it out at 71% and 3 more defenders are taken easily
by mistake click yes and keep that city (it's little use for us, sorry for that)
take last chinese city at a cost of 1 cat and 1 knight (at 88%) but killed about 10 units and china is no more
1645AD (8):
astronomy done, set research for steal for cannons (in 12 at 40%)
1650AD (9):
most cities set for infrastructure
units parked in ex-chinese cities to heal
1660AD (10):
our first frigate from cuzco test fired it's cannons and sank peters caravel
our caravel was going around the other continent, i think it was meant to circumnavigate? If so, i totally forgot about that (sorry). I haven't seen a message, so maybe we can still do it.
Just looked thru the log and Peter did it in 1530AD, long before we had chance.
Our contient:
enemy:
most of our units are in chinatown and some in americalands. Couple are parked by capital or nearby.
We can start galleon production now, or just do preparations once we get several, setup a chain to the other contient with few frigates for defense and once we get cannons start full attack.
Is our plan to keep cities on other contient or just burn everything?
