[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I have had workers get mutated and gain water walk and do the same thing. Very useful if you are playing with a race that has commando and adopt octopus overlord. Units like stygian guard and priests move quickly across these roads. :D

so in your game the land units COULD walk on water?? and come on has anyone played a mod like i mentioned?!?!

I been out of action for 2yrs not playing CIV IV due to my having an old copy that wouldn't run on Vista.

Excuse me for being utterly amazed at the work your team has churned, along with many other great Mods. This is the best fantasy Mod I ever seen for Civ series! I remember this I think at CDG back when I used Desert Fox as my nick. Good job! :goodjob:

Your Mod, Total Realism and Planetfall are my favorites Mods. I simply can't play vanilla Civ IV, can anyone? I will have it on my website giving you yet another mirror for people to download from. Linking support topic back here of course. ;)

I've had a massive single player game going for awhile and to my dismay I've come upon a crash that I can't progress past. I'm not sure whats setting off the crash, I've uploaded my save game file right on the turn that it guarnteed crashes for me. I have a pretty good computer and the game hasn't been lagging so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

I also had a big problem with workers destroying my mana nodes by making workshops! Make them stop!!!!

I had 4 games trying to start, huge first, CTD, large, same thing, tried standard same thing.

I will run it again I believe it has something to do with the Python INIT, when I ran your mod it gave me some errors, computer so fast I couldnt tell except it was a python script error.

I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to add in the Blue Marble art work. His Mod self installs so I never knew where it puts them.

I love the interface, how you created the scenarios that seem to all be rock solid entertaining scenarios. I may try it tonight again, I run Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

dunno for sure, but eventually, python wants to save something to the mods folder?
in that case, you have to run Civ4 with admin priviledges, else, nothing can write data to the program folder on Vista.

hope it helps

Under 'options', I'm pretty sure there is an option saying something like 'leave improvements in place'. This should stop them from working over improvements. You can also tell them not to chop forests.

Finally, you can avoid automating workers!

Best wishes,

hahahh;lfasfjdslk... thats hilarious. i think everyone will find that amusing. sorry i don't really have any answers to any of your questions but i just had to comment and say that is funny as hell. i wish i knew how to do mods like that!!!! :) on a side note, do you know anywhere i can find a mod that combines (from FFH2)....the Subdue Animals + the Graveyards, Ruins and Dungeons + unique terrain improvements + really cool events.... but without all the mana and magic and good vs evil? i absolutely LOVE FFH2, but some of my friends don't want to play with all the magic and mana and everything, but they really like the Subdue Animals and the Graveyards and Ruins in addition to the tribal villages. SOOOOO basically I was just wondering if there is a mod that includes some of those features of FFH2 along with some later game gunpowder-type units from Advanced War or even from vanilla?
Sorry, but I don't know of any mods that do this. However, if you learn the layout of the various XML files there are a LOT of things that you can do. For example, I never promoted mages in the direction of summoning sand lions (animal handling), griffons (animal handling), and krakens (sailing) so... I basically made them a basic part of the game (i.e. trainable characters) along with cheetahs (animal husbandry; superfast hunter-type units) that I got from another mod. This is pretty cool in that you can explore outside of your continent in other ways them simply caravels and hunters (at the earliest point). I'm certain that if you get familiar with the XML you can likely do similiar things. I haven't done much of anything with the "pythons", but you may want to take a look at them as well since most are in human-readable format. Most everything is in a state that a normal user can understand though sometimes the artwork can be a little hard to find. While I'm certainly no expert on it, if you do want a try at it and have a question I'll do my best to answer it (or someone else on this thread, hopefully, will).

hey man, thanks so much for your reply. i will try screwing around with the XML files. and just to throw it out there.. if someone is looking to make a combined mod, i'm sure a LOT of people would like to see a version with graveyards, subdue animals, unique terrain improvements and ruins!! maybe i will learn enough that i can make it myself... but i doubt it. i'm not even a very good player so i doubt i will be a good maker! but i'll try my best damn it. thanks again! :)

Ok, I dont have a computer and am on this site on my iPod Touch but need some information on a hero from FFH...is there a site I could go to so I can look them up and like get their entry from the game? I just need all the info I can get on somebody...

Civ IV has been THE best value I have ever had for a game. It's FFH that makes that so. I'm really close to sending Kael Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium just to show props...

Do it ;)

If you like the graphics of FfH, do me a favour and show me props by donating to a charity of your choice.

cheers.

If you can be more specific about exactly what features you want removed and what ones you want to keep, perhaps I can tell you specifically which files you need to modify and what classes.

Since these are questions to which I would really like to get answers, I'll try posting them again and hopefully someone will be able to respond.

1) I was playing either the Khazad or Luchirp (I don't remember which -- the civilization that has Maros has one of its heroes) when a city turned to me via culture. Typically I get some units in that city as defenders; normally some pretty weak warriors or in some cases higher level units. However, in this case -- much to my surprise -- I got Maros (whom I hadn't built yet). This was surprising enough, but... Not only did I get one Maros, but I got TWO!!! Is this a bug or is there something special about the Maros character? I've never had this happen with any other hero.

2) My wife and I were playing a "hotseat" game with both of us taking two civilizations (don't ask, we manage it). In this particular game we had made Hyborem and Basium (along with the Infernal and Mercurian civilizations) playable. Well, we went to war against each another and, in the course of events, Hyborem and Basium were killed. After that we both discovered that the Infernal and Mercurian civilizations no longer had any traits -- assumably because their leaders were dead and the traits were associated with them. This got me thinking (always a dangerous thing!!!), would other civilizations lose their traits in the event that their leader was actually a unit in the game and they were killed? Or is this something special about Basium and Hyborem? If it isn't I was considering doing a "mod" to introduce the leaders into their civilizations at the start (NOT with the power of Basium and Hyborem) and making one of the subsequent strategies keeping your leader alive and trying to kill the others. Is this doable (for example, I would give the Calabim a "Flauros" unit at the start of the game who was, obviously, one of the vampire units).

3) OK... This has nothing really to do with FfH, but since I'm writing I figured I would as here anyway. My wife loves to make maps and we've been getting into the "hotseat" version of the game. She would like to make a map playing in the "hotseat" mode, but cannot figure out how to do so since the WorldBuilder doesn't appear to be available in "hotseat" mode. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

Maros is the Khazad hero (the Luchuirp hero is Barnaxus). What you're describing in #1 definitely sounds like a bug. You're probably better off posting that in the bug thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=308020) rather than here, since Kael checks that one a lot more often than he does this thread.

Don't know about 2 and 3, sorry.
