[MODCOMP] Building Resource Converter Mod v0.2

This mod looks very interesting. I've already thought of a good use for it. It's related to something that was suggested by someone else (I don't remember who). Someone suggested that the Manhattan Project Great Wonder should be made into a national wonder. It doesn't make sense that just because one country builds it that all the other countries suddenly gains the ability to build nuclear weapons. Properly combined with this Building Resource Converter Mod, a new building could be made called Plutonium Reactor. Supplied with a uranium resource, it could produce a plutonium resource that would be needed to build nuclear weapons. This is an over-simplification of nuclear weapon production but it is sufficient for a game like Civilization IV. And you could still use uranium for building nuclear power plants. Just be sure to make the Plutonium Reactor extremely expensive. Make it one of the most expensive buildings in the entire game.

mabey u could take this idea whit u on this mod.

the most of the time in the game u have dirt roads or railway but that's not in real life. we have highways. and the railways are only there for the trasport so if u replace the railway as main road to highway and ad the railway just for the fast transportation for units. somthing like that it's just an raw idea of it but is been botrering me now for a long time :)

And how does this idea have to do anything with having a building take in one or more resources and output a new resource?

not realy a thing but i didnt know any place als to post this idea

How about in the request thread for mod components? Or in the main "Civ4 - Creation & Customization" forum?

Hello,
In the logic of this mod, i'd like to increase the number of bonus to build some units with 3 or 4 natural or manufactured bonus.
for exemple : Nuclear reactor produce depleted uranium that can be used to make munition for modern uni
t like Gunship (or fighters, tanks).
So, Gunship needs Aluminum, Oil and Munition (depleted uranium)
Could you create a mod, or some modifications, for using 3 or 4 bonus ?

Hi TheLopez
is possible to have the output bonus available in all cities and not only in the city with the special building?

thx for your mods :)

Updated Warlords version to be compatible with the v2.0.8.0 patch.

I admit--if it's not too much trouble--to being curious about Balder's question. I can see why you wouldn't (philosophically) want to make building-produced resources national, but looking at the source, I'm not entirely sure how you set it at all, or for that matter how Civ IV sets the resources available (I gather it has something to do with ChangeNumBonuses in CvPlotGroup?) to any given player.

I know you have other things on your mind, but for someone whose working knowledge does not include C programming (Java is failing me here ): ), how difficult would it be to make the bonuses civ-wide (and thus, I presume, available for trade as well? Like having civs that took in crude oil and could export refined petroleum products)?

Thanks
-Alex

Great mod TheLopez... are you thinking in a Colonization mod also?

This is the second mod of yours that I find usefull for the Colon mod I am working on. Still I was going to use specialist to transform resources instead of buildings but could be an alternative way to go.

Thanks and keep on with the great job

Nope, for several reasons that I cannot mention.

Awesome idea, Now the question on my mind is where did you get the icons for munitions/gunpowder/etc...

I made the icons for munitions, gunpowder, etc. myself.

Updated to be compatible with Beyond the Sword v3.19
