Moderator Action: Thread split off from Mod list announcement

No telephone number to call in complaints? :p

The problem with bolding those names is that that advice is quite imperfect; for a number of forums your best bet will not be the super moderator or admin, and this will continuously change will moderator availability.

I was looking over those names and wondered how many were still moderators or even around. Padma? Lefty? I thought that Lefty retired to his basement years ago and that Padma went missing one afternoon when his Basset Hounds led him astray.

Time for an update?

Eight months later...

Come on, guys. It is not an unreasonable thing to want to know who the active staff are, especially the admins. It is neither fair nor respectful to the membership at large to not let us know who we can go to for answers to questions or solutions to problems.

Admins, if you're retired, how about giving yourselves a "Retired Admin" badge, like the Retired Moderators have (different color, of course) so we can see who's active and who isn't.

It's frustrating not knowing this.

@Petek, @leif erikson, @Camikaze, @Thunderfall, @Browd and anyone else, could at least one of you reply to this? There are more than a few people expressing frustration about this lack of information.

Well, that explains why nobody answered the request to put images in poll options. Could one of you please address that?

And could you please update the active staff list? It's way out of date.

Yes updating the list of mods should be done. Some of the names I haven't seen in OT since I returned in 2017.

OP updated.
It's incorrect. Plotinus' badge (which I saw a few days ago) says he's a Supermod, not an Admin, and Bootstoots quit staff quite awhile ago. So what did you actually change?

The idea behind asking for this update is so we know who is currently active. It's pointless to include PM links to inactive admins or moderators, doubly so if they've actually quit.

The list still isn't correct, guys. What's the point of having inactive admins on the contact list? And didn't a new OT mod get appointed yesterday?

I didn't know there was a new OT mod getting appointed. In that past TF or the admins would post a thread about it and we all give our condolences.

They did post a thread. The new OT mod is Yeekim.

@leif erikson Could you please update the staff list to include Yeekim and remove the rest of the inactive staff (aka give them "retired _____" badges)? It really is annoying to try to contact someone about a question or problem only to find that they're either no longer moderating, not doing admin stuff, or not even on the forum anymore.

I don't believe the OP list is quite accurate about who-all's a supermod, either...

It's actually a pretty important management thing, you know, not to frustrate the membership with bad information. A staffer who hasn't been by lately and nobody knows what the deal is can't be helped, but a few seconds here and there to update immediately when there's some definite change is definitely called for.

Thanks.

The list was updated today. Thanks goes to The_J

FYI the last link for @The_J is incorrect, and I am not sure if @Noble Zarkon is either in most cases. I think the space in the name confuses the forum code.
