Monarch HOF Try

What what what?!
Excuse u me - I'm a reloading guy, but I'm enjoing to do it nicely this time around.
I don't have a single load in my games (they are all short).
Y am I bad??:crazyeye:
Y r u doing this on Svar's thread?!!!
I just post 'cause I can't ignore this.

Anyway, ctrl+shift+q does bring you to main menu, but the point was that you may not load a point in a game that you already did.
You can save, quit, go sleep, then reload that save.

There are some things Aeson can check and some things he can't.
Firaxis didn't build a "what's a cheat" identifier..
They did put a lot of other things, but not enough.
Basically, you may get away with reloading, but I doubt if you will be allowed to submit a HoF after the first time they catch u, and generally, since we are (still) a relatively cheatless community, you will not be LOVED by the community which you try to get HoF into..

All I want is love and affection. I admit it. Do u?

BTW, the fact that I'm Israeli does not mean you are disliked here.
Muslims are not hated here, certain countries (i.e governments) r.
A perfect example for both would be that :
1. Turkey is seen as positively as other european countries.
2. Palestinians are not so hated here as their leadership is.

Specifically, Ara-fat is seen as a liar who will sabotage any agreement and alined with terrorist organizations.

I'm cool. I go work now. The strangest time.. I'm gonna try to connect from work to my home computer..

ATG, you are right........the system is NOT cheat-proof.

BUT, you are NOT permitted to replay turns in the SAME game.....which is what you would do if you restart the game from any prior year.

I personally would like to see a game with ONE starting position that could be played and re-played many times from any saved year........perhaps YOU could open a thread on it and call it The Perfect Game!?....This would be the ultimate in educating the less-experienced players in how to play a game well!.....and RELOADING would be encouraged! ;)

But, for HOF we have a set of Rules and it is on YOUR Honor to play by them!

Incidentally FYI, Aeson, the Administrator & former #1 Deity Player, is very familiar with the indicators in the .sav files and there may be a few tricks, which are NOT publicised, to apply to people circumventing the Rules! ;)

P.s. I see that boogaboo and I covered common ground because of close time postings.
P.p.s. @boogaboo: Suggest you edit OUT (as in DELETE) the Political/Religious Stuff......has ZERO bearing on THE GAME!.......we AVOID real life here! ;)

I finally reached 1900 AD and am still repositioning cities. I should be through by 1950 AD and all I will need to do by then is clean any odd pollution and hit the end turn button. Prior planning would have been good here, I had too many fully developed cities with populations nearing 30 and culture over 1000 that I wanted to move. I may have been more aggressive than I have room to start new cities so will have to resettle some of the same areas.

My score is 18669 and is increasing by 87 points per turn. The final score will get me on the board unless too many more people post high scores. If I can average 80 points per turn for the last 125 turns I will beat Superslug's score if not I will go in just after him. The points per turn are going down faster than I want but there isn't much I can do about it.

and ok. i ask one thing and i will never ansver it again.in the game you are not allowed load a game but if you do Ctrl-Shift-Q and the game goes back to main menu and you reload the game ;it is legal.what is the diffence between them??.maybe autosaves will clean.anythingelse??

Ctrl-Shift-Q is used in reference of starting a new game, not quiting a game and then reloading it.

i told i never post a single thread but (i am really sorry about that) i have some thing in my mind that i cant understand.maybe good player know some tricks and that is normal.but if these tricks chance a lot of things why the others doesnt know that tricks.(means there must be something in the HoF rules about these tricks like mapfinder utility).
and from these threads i understand that loading only the last save is legal and it is not important how many times you reaload it.boogaboo wrote You can save, quit, go sleep, then reload that save.if i save the same year 10 times i can reaload it ten times????.
and for starting posion can i look for the around for luxuries and resorses for maybe 15 turns that the map is good enoughfor a game and restart it from 4000 BC???
one more question.can i start a game from 4000 BC that was played before ???
boobagooo dont take it offensive.i am a Turkish Guy that means i am a Muslim (99 percent of Turks Are Muslim.)i am talking about your games.if you look at your games and you cant say that i am a real good player i play the game 80 hours i get a good point.ithink your game take 1 or maybe 2 hours.maybe you have good scores but i dont think you are a good player .it is just onother trick that the other doesnt want to do.
And Svar i am really sorry.Ý occupy your thread for a long. time that is the last.

@ATG : Even loading at 4000BC, when you know the map, or have seen it once, is not allowed.
You can reload a save, but once you continue playing it, you should not load it ever again.

I don't think my games indicate I'm so good, since they are not milking games.
Conquest is conquest, and I do it in 1 shot each - no reloads, about 5-10 minutes a game.

Turns are going much faster now and I have finished my city repositioning. My score is 20,753 and rising 80 points per turn. I think Superslugs score is safe, I may not break 28,000. I need to average 75.3 points per turn to beat Superslugs score but in the last 25 turns the points per turn have dropped from 87 to 80. I'll do much better than the 24,000 that was my goal and have learned lots of good lessons playing this map, it certainly had the potential to score over 30,000 I just made too many mistakes.

This will be the last screenshot since there wont be any change from here until the end of the game. I should finish before next weekend but I have already started a series of new games.

Until the next patch comes out and I start another huge map milking game, I am playing short 20K fastest finish games. The first is on a Tiny map at the Chieftain level and I'm almost finished already. I started the first decent looking map I could find. The next will be on a Small map at the Warlord level and I have 13 good looking candidate maps for that one. After that I will try a Standard map at the Regent level then a Large map at the Monarch level. I haven't started looking for maps for the last two. In fact I may not use any of the maps for the Warlord level because they all have just 3 AI opponents and I may want the maximum number for these efforts. I only had 2 AI opponents for the Chieftain level and that didn't generate any MGLs.

I'll be finished in about two more days and can submit this game. My score is 24354 and rising by 65 points per turn. Superslug is safe I wont break 28,000.

This is nonetheless an impressive achievement, Svar, as you have entered the 20,000 point club. I salute you and look forward to your future campaigns!

looks awesome!!
what did you use the leader(in your screenshot) for?

There isn't much to use him for so the game will end with him still standing there. After I submit, I probably will go back and experiment with moving the palace. It is still in the original location. I'm not sure of the effects of corruption in C3C 1.15b yet.

I finally finished and submitted. This was a really long game. My final score was 27288 because the points per turn fell all the way to 54. I think I have the milking phase figured out now I just need to finish the conquest phase faster. For those of you interested I had captured 89 barbarian slaves by the end of the game and captured the last one in 2048 AD.

I'm now off to the 20K fastest finish games for a while. The first was submitted a couple of days ago. Tiny world at Chieftain finished in 1832 with a score of 1200+. I have started about 12 Small worlds at Warlock that have been played out to 1000 BC and the last 3 look really good. I really learned a lot in these practice starts that will help when I play another huge world. I have also started another Tiny Chieftain world because the first one was weak. These games play fast but at some point I will need to stop just starting them and actually finish one.

It is really Moonsinger and Dianthus's fault, the MapFinder utility is addictive and I can find great starts faster than I can play them. Someday I will have to actually turn my computer off.

Congratulations, Svar! :band: And I do mean that sincerely without regard to the "safety" of my current score. Although if you had beat my score I might have just said Congratulations and skipped the smiley...

No seriously, very nicely done. You seem to have used the enslavement ability quite well. It never dawned on me to do that with the Mayans during my last run...

Did you REALLY spend 353 hours on this?!

I thought I had it bad - the most time I have spent on a game is around 140 hours.

That was my thought too when I first saw the time but this game was played in about 32 days and there is no way I averaged 11 hours per day playing. I had a tendency during the week to start my computer around 6:30 AM, play for about 40 minutes and go to work, at noon I would play another 40 minutes, and when I got home from work would play about 4 hours. Thats over 5 hours per day but the computer would be on for 18 hours. Given on weekends I could average 8 hours per day playing I would say I spent something under 200 hours actually playing. Had I accomplished the conquest phase earlier I could have shaved about 50 hours off the playing time.

Well done Svar! :)
