Civilopedia:
Arawak (aka Taino, the Antillean Arawak) arrived in Americas in same routs when other native roots had arrived, following the animals, coming from central Asia. They settled in a large area that contained parts of Andes, Amazon forest, Orinoco Basin region (present Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana) and islands of Caribbean, as Porto Rico. The border of this native root were Jê, Carib and other races, several wars against the aggressive Carib and with the Europeans did a big decrease of the Arawak population.
Although the Arawak people were often (except for a few tribes) divided into four separate classes, conflict was minimal within the tribe and culture. One example that can be given of a social structure that embodied the Arawak people was that of the Taino Culture. It was generally considered a matrilineal (rank inherited through female line) society. This complex system of rank and government was divided into four distinct classes: slaves (naborias), commoners, nobles (nitaynos), and the chief (caciques) The special privileges of being a chief were such things as living in special houses, being entitled to special foods, and receiving special treatment from the other classes. In return the chiefs were expected to take control over villages, districts and the provinces in their territory.
Arawak never had a great leader that has promoted the union of all the Arawak people. Them leaders was called chief and cacique and some of them used the monarchist system. Cacique Orocobix was the greatest chief of the Jatibonicu tribe in the XV century, when the Spanish arrived in the region, his tribe was in present Porto Rico and the things that he did for his tribe are reminded by Arawak until today.

Eagle Klan, the UU:
Eagle Klan replaces Spearman, has one extra movement per turn, one extra offensive point and cost 10 shields more.
Arawak are a peaceful native root that inhabited countries of north region of South America, parts of Central America and Caribbean Islands. They were conquered by the angry Carib native root in the time before the Europeans have arrived. Year after that, the Spanish killed the last ones in them Conquest saga in Americas. Despite the Arawak are peaceful, the root has a tribe named the Eagle Klan, a clan that stroke back against Caribbean domination. The eagle, like the name say, is the symbol of this clan that fought for freedom.
