I need to expand my music library with more Scandinavian music. So I thought, with all the Scandies on this forum, that this might be a good place to start asking for suggestions. What I want, primarily, are names of Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic and Finnish artists, preferably singing in their respective language. Please also tell me if there is any special song or album I should look for, and perhaps some other information that might be worth knowing.

Thanks in advance. :goodjob:

...And Oceans's early albums are in Finnish. You won't understand a word though, even if you spoke Finnish.

Gehenna's albums are in ... some language which I'm unsure of. I guess Swedish? This is their best album that I like: "Seen Through the Veils of Darkness". Their song Vinterrikket is awesome.

Satyricon is from Norway but they sing in English. I recommend "Volcano" from them.

Entombed is from Sweden, but they sing in English. Their album Clandestine I consider to be the best death metal album ever. Everything they did after Clandestine sucks though.

The most famous Danish band that actually sings in Danish at this moment is Nephew.

Pop rock with hints of electronica.

edit: Seems you can even listen to their album in the right corner.

These are all from Finland. Metal/Rock. Amorphis and Babylon Whores are some of my favourite bands.

Ajattara: Haureus (= Fornication)

My two favourite Norweigen bands: BigBang and Kaiser Orkestra

Kim Larsen sings in Danish and everybody loves him.

OK, redefine "everybody".

I think it is implied that when a music lover says "Everyone loves him!" he means everyone that matters i.e. everyone who loves him.

All others are misguided or havn't heard him.
