Mornington Crescent: The Return

Impossible my good man. The Dover Rules of 2016 clearly state that the Henry IV maneuver is illegal due to the chance of it getting us stuck in an infinite loop of two stations. Therefore, I'll utilize my Red Ticket and transport myself to Canary Wharf

Ah but we've been to Canary Wharf once alrready so by your own Dover Rules, I should be able to set up the Irishman in four moves if I go for Earl's Court now.

I have to agree with Darth, I think we can delay MC by another four if we go Ongar, but not much more...

I'd like our next round of the game to be by toksvig's protocol, if anyone minds? That involves two-man teams, obviously...

Delay? Sorry, but I shall now play the Keay Card and move from Ongar, to Mayfair, to Strathclyde.

But I can now invoke the Doubles Rule, so that gives me another two jumps, so from Strathclyde, it's the quick Line N through Victoria Park to Mornington Crescent.

HA.

I don't think you can do that; Smithson tried it in the semifinals for the 1979 world championship, but the move was declared invalid because when using the Double Rule from Strathclyde, you have to go to Elephant and Castle before you go anywhere else...

I actually think that's void with the most recent rules; BananaLee can still reach MC in four moves from Ongar (it takes three moves, so even if he has to pass Elephant and Castle, he can still make it).

Oh, well. Was there any support for a toksvig's for the next round? Just start it, someone, we can use this thread.

Toksvig's protcol is fine by me. That said, it seems the Queen's Indian is a reasonable opening here, so Dagenham Heathway.

But you of course know that the Queen's Indian is open to attack from those who count 3 blue chips among their starting equipment, I play them allowing me to box you in with a double front at Upminster and Wimbledon on the other side.

The usual play when a double block is played to the Queen's Indian would be a bifurcated follow-on, but I'm going to be a little bit daring and re-equilibrate, occupying Green Park.

I think I remember seeing Ichinosi play that strategy in the All Ireland at Croke Park two or three years ago; panned out very well for him. Shame he was later expelled from The Institute, but that was an unrelated matter.

... I've forgotten, is the Boatman's Gambit allowed still? It's going to be important when we inevitably end up at Embarkment sooner or later.

That was the quickest Dollis Hill loop I've seen in a while! A part of me feels a little let down in fact! Ah well, the early escape did save me some magenta tokens...

With regards to the Boatman's Gambit, it was ruled legal in the end so I think we can allow it unless anyone has any objections.

My move is Regent's Park.

I don't object, though I do think it is more difficult for newcomers like me to adhere to, given its somewhat old-style emphasis. But anyway, a turn to Harrow-on-the-Hill should render the point moot, though I can see that I'm clearly outclassed here and it's only a matter of time before I succumb.
