Most boring opening movie in a game.

Do not throw anything at me, ok? I hate intros of Civ 3 / 4. There is no style and recognizability in it, like it was in 1 / 2 / ToT, and it's too pompous. Also all those meaningless intros of other modern strategy games keep enraging me...

How can Age Of Empires III Intro be so empty, while intros of I and II were so rich?..

Most awesome intro song is: Franck Klepacki's Hell March with Red Alert

Worst... is EU3 because after the movie psyches you up the 5 minute load wears it down.

Freelancer is definitely one of the best.

I found the M2TW video to be pretty boring after the first viewing.

I really like AoE2's though. To this day it is one of my all time favorites; it never gets old!

Not an opening movie but I found the start of Fallout 3 to be terminally dull.

Age of Empires 2 and both Left 4 Dead games are definitely great examples of opening movies though.

Maybe graphically it's a bit outdated but the whole chess game / battle thing will always be awesome. :p

I forgot about the chess :crazyeye: Ah yes, too bad I uninstalled it recently, the nostalgia is creeping up on me again.

Best? X-Com 1&2 and Dawn of War 1&2

Worst ummmm there are so many to choose from. I'm not a big fan of World of Warcraft's opening

I couldn't agree more. Wished there was a way to just skip through the opening intro of Fallout 3.

Final Fantasy X's is pretty dull, and you're forced to watch it over and over again.

Act of war: Direct aciton.

Its basicly a news cast then later some government people talking:(

It's been a while since I've played, so I can't remember exactly.

MoO3 had a pretty boring intro, except for the face-hugging thing attacking the human, scene. Most of the original Neverwinter Night intros are horrible; I can't bear watching them.

Off top of my head, I thought the Dawn of War (first one) intro movie was the most gripping one ever, though I liked the Battlefield 2 one as well. Joint Operations had an ok one, though kind of canned music. Fallout 1 and 2 had some of the best intros too (love the "Deutschland feel" and the executed Canadian prisoner scene); Fallout 2 has like a cheery "Leaving the vault scene" ending with a family opening the vault to find a Enclave minigun greeting (Their tax dollars at work!).

While I liked the tune, of course, I disliked the intro movie of Red Alert. It was too... um, boring. Just a screen of one unit moving across an entire type of terrain. I know it's unfair to judge it because of inferior technology at the time, but still, wow.
