Which do u think are the most infamous characters to ever set foot on this planet...? I think the most infamous of all time, has to be beyond question Adolf Hitler... followed closely by Himmler...

Adolf Hitler... followed closely by Himmler...

 Himmler? Maybe in Germany :P.

Hitler is certainly very known but not the most. Along with him, I'm thinking of Jesus, Muhammed, Moses, Abraham, Stalin, Mao, Obama, Bush, Harry Potter, Elvis, Michael Jackson and maybe Miley Cyrus :mischief:.

I guess it all depends on where you live (i.e., Hitler being way more known in Germany than in Kongo).

Uh dude he said infamous

Hitler is quite obvious.
But people tend to forget (not know?) Pol Pot who, it has been calculated, was the most bloody 'communist' leader. Furthermore, what was scary about Pol Pot (and Hitler) was that his plans had an unreal, truely deranged and fatalistic sound to it. Starting from year 0? Killing every man with glasses? Destroying all city's and industry and relocating everything and everybody to agriculture? Naming himself "brother number one"?
It all sounds so unreal, like things that only happens in a story or a fantasy. But Pol Pot got close to accomplishing it. This what makes Pol Pot literally 'scary'.

Shame he is so unkown.

Nero and Caligula have lasted in human memory as rathers nasty pieces of work for such and long time that I feel they would be up there as 'most infamous'.

Eating your unborn child, that really is putting yourself out there, Pol Pot and Hitler never got close to anything that deranged.

Calumnies count towards infamy? Well, I guess it makes sense...

Do you wanna know who's the most hated person or who's the most "evil" person?

In no order (apart from Hitler #1)

Hitler
Genghis Khan
Stalin (a lot of my opinions would differ but I recognise he is generally considered infamous)
Nero
Caligula
Pizarro
Napoleon
you could make a case for Mao, but given the fact that he is venerated by the next supwerpower and history is written by the victors, I dont think so
Henry VIII
Pol Pot

Where's Andrew Jackson in all this?

Mao certainly won't go up in your list according to current world political equilibrium. But China jumped to defend him as a great Chinese leader? Hardly in this century and next century.

Even if Germany got up in the world ladder, Hitler will still be infamous in Germany.

Stalin will go down the list considerably due to current Russian administrative manipulation.

History is written by the victors. If Hitler would have won WWII, and if Germany was a super-power now, then yes, Germany probably would be famous, as anything written badly about him wouldn't exist in Europe.
