MOST OVER rated game ever!!!!

I didnt even mention graphics in my post, I said I played it when it was old and because it was old when I played it I would have judged it agaisnt newer games which have improved upon the genre.

EDIT: well didnt say exactly that but that what i meant

While it definitely looks like that at first, especially if you've played some of the most recent RTS's, Starcraft has aged incredibly well. If you actually get into it, you'll find that the game mechanics play perfectly. New strategies are still being discovered as the game is still played extremely competitively today, nearly 8 years after its initial release. It's literally the national sport of South Korea. You'd think I'm joking, but I'm not. :)

Counter-Strike tends to be over-rated, Diablo 2 was over hyped IMHO, EE2 (Empire Earth2) was hyper-lame, racing games don't deserve but I think the grand daddy of over-rated games is the Halo series... Halo one had a leigon of loyal fans, yet I have always thought it's wonderful reputation was clearly undeserved.. One or two shots with the pistol (the best gun in the game) could kill anyone! Halo 2 had little improvements over the original, merely graphics, the gameplay still lagged behind.

I agree with this, counter strike was good, but there (were) are so many better games out. Plus I tend to pity these people who go absolutely crazy over it.

Not scary? Try playing it at 1am in the morning, with the volume all the way up.

Admitadly I haven't played Doom 3 yet, but I doubt anything can be scarier than Alien vs Predator in the middle of the night :p

Actually i found AvP to be preety boring. I haven't played Doom3.

But Clive Barker's Undying is the scariest at ANY hour, daylight can't protect you :satan:.

I didn't like Halo that much, but then I'm not really into FPSes. So I usually give it a pass.
I like sports games, but I dislike that they release a new one after a year with little improvement. I'll just wait every couple of years to get my new roster and get a group of improvements at a time.
FF is overrated. Enix's Dragon Warrior/Quest series was always more fun for me. I'll grant FF the graphics, but I don't care that much about graphics in a turn-based RPG.
Any action RPG. It's not much of a stat game/RPG if there is button mashing.
Any game that recieves a high rating for it's multiplayer. The only games I've liked to play that ranked better in multiplayer than single player were for the GameCube.
Non-electronic, I dislike any board game that involves mostly random chance and zero tactics. I'd rather spend my time writing a program for my graphics calculator that will just figure out who won the game than actually playing the game. My problem comes in that I buy $50 board games with over 200 pieces and I most of my friends think Stratego is too much thinking and not enough fun. One of those board games is Civilization: The Board Game, of course.;)

Well I think that at the time when Counter-Strike came it was quite fantastic work for mod which got very popular. And remember that is/was MOD! That makes it perhaps legend.

But of course it can't anymore beat other online shooters since there are so much better games, like Battlefield 2 for example.

Doom 3 is definitely very overrated. But you can't tell me it's not scary at certain points!

The main problem is they basically made 1 level, copied it 25 times, and called it a game with 25 levels.
