MP Game - RewriteHistory - 18civ EARTH map historical start position

when I try to connect, it shows that there's a peer (even though no one is in the game), connects to him, starts loading the game, and hangs at "Finishing Loading", when the background goes black and the world is about to show up

Same here,

And civstats says Mazinho just got kicked to AI!

Game dropped me in the middle of logging in...now it is down.....

zen has missed the last 6 or so turns
knowing he's about to die, my guess is he quit
I think it's fitting to kick him to AI

I completely agree with this.....If he wont play...at the very least let the AI do it poorly.

Possibly look for a sub...maybe even let Elkad take over if he is willing.

I razed 2 of his 3 cities (including his capital) right before I died. And his ill-advised warrior-choke put him (and me) so far behind the other civs that neither of us could ever be competitive. So no, I'm not interested.

Maybe put Zen to ai then...but I guess he is close to elimination anyway..

Exactly my opinion....the AI part anyway....if he has abandoned, then at least let the AI fight poorly and build units....it is very unbalancing if the attackers are just allowed to wade through with no resistance.

Note that when any of you come for India.....I will fight to the bitter end!:D

I think the game is down now also....so would be a great time to kick Zen to AI.

Hello sorry for not missing the last few turns. Basically when russia and my ally ottomans turned on me and captured the last good city i had left after elkad's bizzarre revenge fest, i realised i was beat. I meant to login and turn it over to ai but didn't get round to it. sorry for that, but won't make much difference.

I am a bit of an mp noob so i was not too surprised that i was snuffed out so soon but at least i wasn't the first to be eliminated.

in contrast to elkad's assessment i don't think the choke that india and i put on persia in the early part of the game was a mistake. It didn't put me behind and allowed me to get some land around persia that i otherwise i probably wouldn't have been able to get. Even more important it prevented an immortal rush before i (and india) could counter it with spears.

Where things stated going wrong was when elkad's launched a war on me apparently not for his gain but only for revenge.

Strategically and ecomomically i was doing okay considering the dificult starting position i had, but i made some very bad tactical blunders during elkad's obsessibe warring with me which in the end cost me my capital and big chunks of my army. oh well.

It was fun game tho.

I am working on a mod at the moment which will be geared towards a mp 'history rewrite' like this game but on a much bigger map and many other features including the ability to change leaders mid game in a similar manner that players can change civics in the standard game.

Not for my gain? I had sufficient troops to eliminate you, until you called in the Ottomans to help. My plans included the fact that the Ottomans and Russia were at war with the Vikings, I had a non-aggression pact with Russia, and various arrangements with all my other neighbors. (and a few distant countries as well)

Of course then the Viking war ended early, Ottomans jumped in to help you, and I had to abandon my first target (hilled/walled and now full of ottoman troops too). I made some security arrangements in case all those Ottoman swords pushed towards my capital, and then sent my stack further into your territory. Pillaging for cash and destroying roads to keep that Ottoman force stuck behind me. Then Russia broke the treaty with me as well. Once Russia backstabbed me, my death was inevitable. My defense plans could have stopped the Ottomans. But not the Ottomans plus a heavy force of Russian knights. Even if my offensive stack had turned around and rushed home, they would have only delayed my death by a few turns. I'd already decided I'd have to raze your capital, the only difference was that now it was for spite instead of strategy.

And your war declaration was based on a false assumption in the first place.

Same experience here with the ill-advised early war. I knew early that we would both be losers.

The kick button for zen is greyed out on the pitboss admin screen.

whiplash, you did a nasty thing that ruined my game, you declared war to kill my scouting warrior

seeing how we're neighbors, and seeing how you didn't propose peace right away (which is something I've noticed people do after a scout-killing, and have done myself), I thought I was in for a real war, so I had to abandon my choke (to be followed by a cat assault) against the Zulu

and had gitbliss not taken my land, I would've overwhelmed you, which, after falling behind in development, was the only thing left to do
