MSN is hurting me

When having converdations using the instant messaging service MSN, at the moment some messages that people are sending me are not getting through.

What on earth is the problem? As you can probably imagine, its very frustrating!

What client? I don't really know what that means.

Does "Windows Live Messenger" answer your question?

MSN has semi reliable service at best. Often it's just server errors that cause the occasional message to drop out.

But this never used to happen to me. And at the minute this problem is only afflicting me, and nobody else that I am talking to.

could it be that you got one of those msn viruses (virii?)?

I've had conversations with people who would suddenly log off...log on again, send me some weird link, log off and log on again...and of course the sender knew nothing of the link he sent.

Nobody has told me of any link that I am sending them, so I assume that I am not doing so. Although MSN does log me out frequently, perhaps every 5 minutes or so. There are no viruses or spyware or anything affecting me because this problem occurs on both computers, and also I have scanned recently for viruses and there have been none detected.

Any further ideas???

Make a new account and see if that does the same thing?

Also, if it's on both computers, if they both are on the same router or whatever maybe that, screwy connection?

It could be a dodgy connection I suppose; a few days before the MSN problem started the internet connection was disconnecting periodically. However, this was only on the laptop, which is normally used reasonably far away from the router.

Any possible solutions???

Havent had a problem with GTalk yet. There hasnt been a time in memory when the network for it was down, or I couldnt connect, outside of my own internet connection being down.

I'm not sure if any of my messages have ever actually been dropped, maybe a couple, I think one person to whom it happened to a few times was lying to me. As usual.

Althoguh I have had Trillian screw up a bit so my messages weren't being sent unless I closed the window and opened a new one.

I've only used MSN. And while I don't use it much now, there were several years that I used it very heavily. For the most part it's ok. But sometimes the network just drops out. Sometime individual posts, sometime, rarely, it won't connect at all. Better than 98% uptime was my experience.
