multiplayer civ2...

what do i need to download in order to play multiplayer civ2?? at the main menu of my civ2, theres no button for multiplayer either...

You need to have Civ 2 Multiplayer edition or Civ 2 Gold. If you have just Civ2 I don't think it will work. However, if I'm not mistaken, there is a link on this website where you can upgrade to the lastest Civ 2 version, that might get you the multiplayer option. Hope this helps you out, I've been playing Civ 2 for a while, but I'm new at this multiplayer thing myself.

If you have the classic version of Civ2, you can download a third party multiplayer patch (<a href="http://www.civfanatics.com/civdownloads.shtml">Downloads Collection</a>) that allows u to play multiplayer against other players who <u>also</u> have that patch.

Unfortunately, you will only be able to play against other Civ2 Classic players that have the patch. Most ppl on CivFan I believe have Civ2 MGE. It might be worth it to try to find it. You can normally find it in a bargin bin for 10-20$. Or you can just wait for Civ3. Most everyone on here will have Civ3 as soon as it comes out...I know I will!

I believe MGE is worth it, but it will depend on what game you have already. What do you have already?
