Multiplying Great General Points

Alright, just as I figured. Now if someone could show me how to make use of a privateer on deity someday, then maybe Firaxis won't have to fix such a broken unit. :P

And actually, there are quite a few of things that are multiplicative. Everything from Beur. HAMMER bonus, to Representation Bonus.

How is representation multiplicative?

Ok, first step is to build some cottages, then lightbulb a tech or two. Then use a couple Great Folks to start Golden Ages.

 I bet DaveMcW gets lots of use out of them

I think he is referring to the fact that you get the +3 :beakers: added in before the modifiers. Same as the printing press and free speech additives to towns.

As CivCorpse mentioned, Rep boosts your scientists before they go through your bonus buildings. 1 running scientist counts as 2 now before going in. Anyone who doesn't see the power in that is probably off building cottages still...

BTW, people used to tell me all the time settling a scientist is a terrible idea if it isn't in the BC era because the payout isn't there. But I'm not so sure of that.

There's a few factors most of them miss.

1 Settled Scientist gives 6 beakers, not 3 from the runners.
2 Rep makes that 9 beakers
3 Extra hammer for each scientist, also can be used to emphasize science too, brings your total up even more with Alphabet.
4. All Pill-bottles and hammers from scientists go through the other bonus multipliers. So just 1 settled scientist in your science city can give you 27 science a turn, (Can you guess if that is with a laboratory or not?)

In addition to above-mentioned circumstances, you can be forced to build privateers if you lack iron since that's a req for frigates. I had to do this in my OCC game, luckily combat4 privateers had no problem killing enemy frigates.

A newbie question about GG points: Where can I view how many I have/need? (Playing Warlords, don't have BtS.)

Thanks in advance.

The sword/Shield icon in the top right hand corner. I do not know the funtion key but I am sure others do.
