Multipolarity II - Game Thread

The day is yet young.

The problem is only partly mechanical. You must know your reputation for instigating interesting times has long preceded you.

Provided I keep them within their paramaters I think I can avoid too much hilarity. :mischief:

Truth be told, I'm half-inclined to cede the Union and sub-GM full time, given how dispiriting this game has already been.

But if you do that, Katterland will rule the UN! :(

Update within 15.

Announcements:

Rebels, rebels galore! Back up the right side, and you'll find a new ally. And old tensions shall be nevermore.

Stock market mechanic refined.

Some major NPCs now in play. Don't worry I'll be gentle. All of them are following the path that was laid out for them by their former owner. Any vacated majors, unless specified otherwise, however, will be destroyed from now on.

Update IV

Stats

Spoiler :
Note: Income is rounded UP. 30.1-30.9 gold will be counted as 31 gold, etc.

Double Note: Some of you have negative money in your vault. This is added to your income and that is your total spending money. The negative rating represents the money that companies have taken from you to give you their power this turn. This will last until you cancel your contract.

The World Bank is offering loans of 10 gold for 11 gold the following turn. Provided they are not rejected by a chair, they shall be accepted.

==Overview==

It is the Year 3012. Important news are as follows:

Oz has once more been repulsed, and is on the verge of defeat. However, the state of Victoria has fractured among strategic and political lines, and could possibly slow the rise of the Katter superpower, which has far more population than any other power.

10 major powers have aligned against the USSR after its surprise invasion of Partitionania. When clients of these states inevitably collide, the result is sure to be bloody, with much blood and treasure lost on both sides. Meanwhile, those states in neutrality have time to use the vastly expanded coffers of governments the world over to amass even more wealth.

The 501st has shocked the world with the abolition of domestic taxation and most tariffs; it now subsists off dividends and income from its close allies. With a close network of said allies, they are sure to be defensible in the event of war.

South America remains quiet, with Brazil and Peru continuing to enjoy peaceful co-existence of the continent.

Angola, eager to start a war with the USSR, now finds itself divided. It has been joined by several other nations in this status, with civil wars wracking several major powers and complementing the war in Europe.

Meanwhile, an undeclared Cold War has begun between Katterland and the Union of China for the hearts and minds of the Third World. Both have begun liberal investments in the world renowed charity and PR firm, Philanthropy, and numerous minor states, feeling the stock price could rise from such competition, have invested in it.

==Uprisings==

Occupation rules have changed a bit so as to speed up the process each turn.

Occupied territories rise up for five turns after occupation, damaging industry and causing loss of troops. They do not usually directly confront troops unless there's a good chance of victory; they prefer terrorism and guerrilla warfare.

Equation: 0.25 industry points lost per province occupied; 1 army lost per 10 provinces.

Katterland-Occupied Oz (17 territories - Turn 2)

4 Industry points lost. 2 armies lost.

USSR-occupied Partitionania (28 territories - Turn 0)

Ramblings of a massive anti-Soviet revolt in Partitionania. A large troop presence is suggested to avoid large amounts of land loss.

Hungary orders a complete overhaul of her air force and battle orders will be pmed by tomorrow evening.

OOC:In other words put everything into air units.

Hey wait a sec, Anatolia's borders are off. You ignored my expansion order.

Duly remedied. Sometimes mistakes are made. :p

I presume the Kingdom of Victoria, being the blue, is the particular Victoria that sided with Katterland (which would be understandable considering the regions its composed of are the ones most affected by Ozian aggression)

Correct. Rebel factions always appear in pink. The Kingdom also, by name, can obey feudal obligations to the Katter crown, whereas the Republic, due to no aristocracy, cannot. :p

Katter is a peaceful man and has no malice against the victorian rebels. He will naturally send negotiators to talk with them alongside representatives of the Kingdom.

Just not now since he has to go to a tutorial soon for a course on German history. :p

Slight error I believe: I had 2 air forces set to follow my troops, and 3 set to bombard Partitionian armies.

If you could adjust, much love :)

3 bombardments. None hit. Issue resolved. :p

I get that in my debt it's -14 from Ricio and -5 from theft, but what is the other -7 from?

Also, proposal on trade so to make it impossible to make more in trade than you have GDP. Similar to how you implemented a cap in military and espionage, put a cap on trade based on industry. After all, what is there to trade in some impoverished country?

Thinking of joining. What does the black striped area around the British Isles signify?

London declares war on the USSR.

@Kaiser. That it is off limits under pain of Londoner bombing.
