The Central Committee officially announces the re-establishment of INTERPOL

Interpol-Logo-Trans.png

The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) aims to facilitate co-operation between state police agencies to uphold law and security worldwide. We strive to provide police around the world with the tools and services necessary to function to the best of their ability. We enable global access to police data and information, and provide operational support on specific priority crime areas.

What We Are
  • A voluntary partnership. States may join INTERPOL on a purely elective basis, and are free to leave the organization at any time.
  • A communications nexus. INTERPOL provides police agencies with a central databank of relevant information. We offer member states a common forum to discuss and coordinate international crime-fighting strategies.
  • A UN associate. INTERPOL acts in accordance with the Union of Nations, and provides biennual reports to the General Assembly to assist states in developing security policy.

What We Are Not
  • A politically-motivated organization. INTERPOL adheres to full diplomatic neutrality, and will not intervene or otherwise act in a political, military, religious or racial character.
  • A legislative body. INTERPOL is not a lawmaker, and will work to the best of its ability within the limits of existing state laws.
  • A judiciary. Persons arrested are the responsibility of the state legal system or a UN-sanctioned international court.

Official INTERPOL membership comprises two tiers:

The Central Committee is responsible for gathering and processing national police and intelligence data relevant to the scope of its investigations, as well as the administrative duties of the organization. Prospective committee members are screened based on confidence in their ability to properly safeguard classified information.

States that have been declined a committee position, or do not aspire to one, may also opt for associate status to permit local investigations by INTERPOL agents. While associates do not have direct access to the central databank, they may submit requests for information, and will have priority access to domestically-relevant data.

Associates and non-member states may freely submit information to INTERPOL. For general inquiries, see the office in the Union of Nations. For inquiries of a sensitive nature, or to submit information to the databank over secure channels, contact any Central Committee representative.

Where can I apply to INTERPOL?

I demand you lift these ing embargoes.

THE USSR IS THE ONLY NATION TO GET EMBARGOED!!

I already got embargoes last turn.

I've been trying for PEACE since last turn.

Just because Partitionania refuses, that makes me bad?

I'm not going to put up with this multi-turn just for a war. So ing what if its a war of agression?

Double A, Oz, AND Katterlnd all had their wars, i dont see ANY embargoes for them.

Lift the ridiculous embargoes immediately, thorvald (or should i say, anti-USSR-power abuser).

The USSR has commited an aggressive war. On top of that, they literally drove Partitionia into oblivion without giving them any fighting chance. I have been considering on following suit with other nations on the embargo.

Why is Partitionania refusing? Are you offering them an unreasonable deal with them? No one likes it when there placed in a losing possition on a win-lose situation. - Representative Samantha Holt

The land was unclaimed. I must have just missed it. Repatriated. :p

==A History of Prussia: 3010-3015==

Following Linas Savitski's departure from power in 3010, the far more conservative Heinrich Jaroslaw. Jaroslaw was a fierce, fiery politician, and when it became apparent he would pursue privatisation, the large German minorities declared the German Democratic Republic in a bid for independence. With the Soviet-Partitionanian War having just erupted, it was a brilliant move; Jaroslaw could crush the rebels, and lose face with the Soviets, or aid the Soviets and let the GDR exist unabated.

However, with the GDR being hostile to both Soviet communism and the capitalist totalitarianism of London, it was a threat all sides could agree to quashing. Prussia remained neutral for a few years, crushing its rebellion with some assistance from its ally Sweden.

The rebellion discredited leftism in many circles, pushing Prussia towards the right. Regardless, Prussia was committed to protecting its communist ally. However, Jaroslaw was a savvy politician, and seeing the issue of going fully alongside the USSR, used legal terminology to craft policy.

Since the alliance between the Russians and Prussians was purely defensive, Prussia had no obligation to assist in the conquest of Partitionania. However, it was obligated to act against the Western Allies, who it viewed as aggressors. Jaroslaw swiftly declared the Baltic off limits to the shipping of foreign nations, viewing itself towards the War as some European powers had been towards the American Civil War: it was an internal affair and third parties were not to get involved. Prussia also reaffirmed that it was not a member of the Diamond Alliance, only being allies of convenience with the coalition, its primary ally being the Soviet Union. Prussia saw no reason to align with anyone beyond Europe.

With foreign policy wrapped up and a moderate approach taken, Jaroslaw sought to realise his dream: a Prussia that lived up its name, stretching all the way from Kaliningrad to Strasbourg. He sought to form alliances with the western Germanic states, so as to secure control of the German interiror. He blocked off the Baltic coast, preventing foreigners from penetrating the North. His government changed policy from conquest of the former Polish countryside to the German. He desired to build his country's prestige, acquiring the great legacy of the German nation in culture and science.

However, wealth needed protection. He began a program of expanding the Prussian air armada, fearing Hungary's own large force. He began to recruit thousands upon thousands of more men into service with generous benefits once their service was complete. With an enlarged army, Prussia would emerge strong, and be able to unite the Germanic territories as its predecessor had over a millennia prior.

Protection also needed wealth to convince it to stay in government hands. Not wanting a repeat of the GDR crisis, Jaroslaw made sure his troops were paid generously. He began to pour large swathes of money into the economy, using public works projects to improve Prussia's lacking infrastructure. Newly-paved highways allowed for much higher-speed travel, and the economy exploded with tourism and more efficient transport of goods.

Not satisfied, the Jaroslaw Cabinet moved on the ailing Kintobor Corporation. With large sums of money, many scientists were persuaded to come to the country and work for state research projects, while others assisted with lectures at universities, helping turn Prussia's subpar education system into a far more robust one, capable of producing the scientists of the next generation.

Above all, Jaroslaw's Prussia saw itself on the road to a better future. Whether it would reach that future, would remain to be seen.

OOC:Let me correct your history. The prussian soviet alliance was NOT purely defensive.

I started it and we both agreed to invade poland at an undisclosed time.

The fact that my first human ally kmew this yet his npc counterpart isnt following is very upsetting.

I dont care what ecomony prussia has. They promised to help and i dont want them flaking due to some neutrality bulshit.

I need their armies for a turn.

Also, tablets.

So the Soviet Union does admit this is a war based solely around imperialism. Nice to know.

My offer to secede the baltic and pay reparations was plenty fair.

They refused, so i invaded.

What the hell? 'Losing position'???

I have 4x their army, YET I OFFER PEACE? THEY REFUSED! SO THEY DIED.

I've been generous, but thhy refused all offers except nes where they got all their land back plus 300 gold.

Any sane man would have jumped at my peace offers, but partitionania lacks the senseof self preservation.

That statement is out of character, but i have no problem admitting that i was going to kill you as soon as that alliance formed in the signup thread

Also about the 'fighting chance' thing - sorry i didnt lie down and let them win. How silly of me.

Partitionania was on a LOSE LOSE situation.
They had no chance of victory, and had 2 choices.

Accept my peace deal and build back, maybe gain some support then strike back at me.

Refuse and die.

Their choice was obvious, dont blame me.

I tried not to utterly destroy them, but their 'fight to the last man' mentality doesnt work.

Moderator Action: Hello Patriotic fool, I see from your post count that you may be new to civ fanatics. Welcome. In our efforts to keep our site fun and friendly, we don't allow swearing and what is traditionally called "bad language". Please specify whether you are applying for associate membership or the Central Committee.
Well, I'm interested in joining the Central Committie if possible :).

The Central Committee officially announces the re-establishment of INTERPOL

The GM committee announces that it remembers your confession that you changed the UN's INTERPOL name to something else just so you could use the title for your RP. :p

Republic of Prussia:

The USSR has commited an aggressive war

...Oz and Kleptocratica did not?

The only difference in these three conflicts is that the USSR is poised to win.

The prussian soviet alliance was NOT purely defensive.

As originally envisioned, it was not. The Jaroslaw government believes a primarily defensive alliance better serves the Prussian people's interests. As such, we are willing to defend the Soviets against outside interference.

we both agreed to invade poland at an undisclosed time.

Prussia's statement was not that Poland was inherently an enemy. Our desire was to attack Poland only if we reasoned they might attempt development of nuclear weapons as prior governments had.

Do we have any evidence of a successful nuclear program? While the Partitionanians are confirmed to have been spending small sums on nuclear weapons, that alone does not amount of anything. Where's the successful program? The stockpile?

The fact that my first human ally kmew this yet his npc counterpart isnt following is very upsetting.

The Kalvelis-Savitski government left so quickly that some minor details may have been omitted. :p

They promised to help and i dont want them flaking due to some neutrality

Assistance was due once the GDR forces had been finished.

Prussia's navy is willing to stave off any would-be liberators. Prussia wishes to use its army to secure more of Germany for settlement. Would economic assistance suffice instead? It is no secret that the USSR's economy is ailing due to the war, and Prussia would be able to spare some Marks to help deal with rising discontent.

OOC: Speaking as the GM, what -is- the reason the NPCs have mass embargoed the USSR but not Kleptocratica?

Between this and Lacuna, I wonder if you even try to understand the names. :p

Because Double A and Kinich are in peace talks, and I don't want to spend an hour writing up responses if I'm going to have to reverse them five minutes later. Same thing nearly happened with Somalia.

If it looks like a settlement won't be reached before turn lock, expect 'em.

Thank god Tani finally decided to act on that, it was getting ridiculous.

In case you haven't noticed USSR has been in peace talks multiple times and have already signed peace with Rome. I still claim unfairness.
