King Edward looked out over the square in front of the Parliment building in Wellington. He was here to deliver grim, yet neccesary, tidings to the nation, to rally their spirits for the potentially terrible hardships ahead. It was no time for doubt, or hesitation, but time instead to show the world that even in the face of the blockade; New Zealand had no plans to back down. He took a step forward, and began to speak.
"People of New Zealand. It is with a heavy heart I come before you today, with an announcement of news I am sure many of you have heard already. The nation of Namibia, a land ruled by the iron fist of a totalitarian government, has, without even formal declaration, begun a blockade of our fair islands. For our simple request that they acknowledge our own national interests, they have begun a systematic plan to starve and subjugate our people to their will!
There is, however, much to take hope from. Already, the response of the world is trickling in; offering aid and support in this time of crisis. Our allies in Australia and Manx have already declared that they will send military aid, if such is required, and my gratitude goes out to them both for it. The world, my freinds, stands with us today!
And we will not dissapoint them. There will be no surrendur to such militant tyranny, no bowing before the callous demands of such aggressors! We will not be cowed by their bluster, their shows of force, or their vain attempts to bend us to their will. We will meet them head on, with fire and steel if that is what it takes.
If the worst comes to the worst, and fighting breaks out, we will face it with resolution. Even should the seas be ripped asunder by the chaos of war, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Australia, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our islands, whatever the cost may be. And I know we shall, in the end, be victorious."
