Every day thousands of different goods are loaded and offloaded in our ports, and our ships set sail for distant lands. What does this mean?
It means that there are greedy, atheist scum who wish nothing more than to steal wealth from the Romney Republic. These pirates desire nothing else other than to cause harm and dissent, and to go the way of many in my past. When Obama caused a coup in my beloved America, he chose to act like a snake. He weaseled his way into power, winning over minorities due to his dark skin color, and bribing white officials so they turned a blind eye to his evil doings. In the end, he went the way of the pirate, of the anarchist. The only thing he desired was his own gain, but the Romney Republic is about so much more!
By keeping a strong, powerful fleet, we protect our merchants and traders from harm.

New Zealand naval planning officers have begun a major revamp of the Navy's strategic doctrine. Due to the expansion of the UKNZ onto other shores beyond New Zealand itself, their role should war break out is likely to be massiely different from what had previously been assumed. As well as having to protect the Central Islands, the navy will likely be called upon to protect the shores of the offshore colonies, as well as keeping open large-scale supply routes for troops fighting beyond the Central Islands.
In keeping with this projected change in naval requirements, the recommendation has been put out for a major increase in the size of the navy, as well as a reffiting of all it's current fleets as soon as possible. The head of the Admiralty, Wobbly McSeasick, has been quick to embrace these plans, and begun argueing passionately for their immidiate introduction.
The idea of Naval Expansion lies in line with the plans of both the King and Prime Minister to establish a new commonwealth in the Pacific. As such, a limited expansion program has been put into place. Although the new ships being put into service shall not be enough for a whole new naval group, they will be used to bolster the combat power of the current task forces.
Parliment has promised that further increases in naval spending are soon to come, and that all the new ships shall be outfitted with the best weapons available to the nation. However, attention shall also be paid to transport ships; both for the moving and landing of troops, and for the hauling of supplies to any NZ forces fighting where land-based supply lines cannot reach.
