Multipolarity III - Game Thread

==Somali Civil War==

Negan orders 4 Savior fleets to assault the Equestrian government’s fleet.

Each side loses 1 fleet. Discord is given an ultimatum: he can either turn over two provinces to Aden, or risk a full-scale invasion next turn. Having to fight the Royal Somali government, Discord caves in, knowing he can’t hope to defeat Aden without foreign assistance. As thanks for his cooperation, Aden blockades Royal Somalia.

The two Somali governments do not engage.

However, the incident causes Ethiopia to raise its DEFCON by 2 points. Its obvious Aden is off its rocker.

==Vietnamese Civil War==

The two sides, once more, do not engage.

To come: Black Ops

-a Manx navy vessel guarded by two destroyers emerged near Romney's Republic's coast. This vessel had been set with speakers, setting out the naturally loud, booming voice of one of the heads of the Manx navy: Prince Admiral Finbar Flanagon, decedent of Emperor John’s brother Victor.-

Attention peoples under Romney! We of the Imperium of Man have leaded attack on your pitiful fleets in the name of justice! We are here to combat the Mormon heresy that plauges your land! We also wish to deal with the influence of Romney which threatens the stable order of the world! Our fleets are mighty and those we lost will be never forgotten! The Duke of Munster has proved stated to me that your iron rule will "melt in great quickness." We will in the name of the Lord and of Emperor Magnus Flanagon of Mann see to it that order to enforced in your realm! We aid our allies in ensuring they can commence the mission of converting you all to the true path of the Lord! In the name of the Lord's love we offer you two options: face the fires of damnation that will be delivered to you by our forces and by the burning chambers that lay for those who dare pratice the will of evil... or surrender so that we may set you on the right path and lead the world into the greater glory of the Lord! Remember: our fleets are strong. We will break the demonic rule of Romney's Republic and bring Romney to justice via a painful but soul saving public execution! Consider this in the name of the Lord, who will have mercy on those who join the side of the good and dread to those who side with demons such as the heresy that we are here to burn out!

Romney

Romney is utterly horrified at the nations of the world. Having pledged himself to nonviolence, peace, and prosperity, he was improving the world through trade and cooperation.

Now, nations of the world attack him with no reason or prompt. These acts to blockade Romney and usurp him from power are simply hidden imperialism and hate towards Romney. What has the Republic done to deserve such ill-will among those whom he was cooperated and worked with in the past?

All those involved are being removed from the International Trade and Prosperity Coalition, seeing as they obviously don't value trade or prosperity, rather destruction, hate, and violence.

Embargoes and international action will be had shortly.

I personally implore those involved - STOP for a moment and think about your actions. Who do you think is going to profit from a war on Romney? Who will emerge on top? Who will gain the most from this? In essence, continue down your path and you are nothing but pawns for another force, allocating to its power as he leeches off of your own.

You client too many states. Also you client our allies. So, we shall destroy you.

Japan has merely contributed a portion of its nval military capability to end the Romnesian blockade of the Gulf of Guinea, towards which we have repeatedly expressed our disagreement and our view of its illegality. That said, Japan wishes for no territorial gains from this engagement and considers the conflict over on its part unless Romney wants it to go on.

Am I wrong to say that there is clearly a disconnect between Namibia and Japan? Or is Japan talking out one side of its mouth?

Seriously, your ally just posted that it wants West Africa destroyed. Given that Namibia has nuclear weapons, this is a pretty significant statement.

We do not have Nukes.

Yes, you do. You even tried to seek approval from a non-involved ally if you were to use nuclear weapons against West Africa. You have at least three.

Japan only joined this venture on the grounds of the suppression of the Romnesian blockade, and was in fact unaware of the staged invasion of sovereign Romnesian territory. We mind our own business and consider our campaign objectives achieved. That said, a naval detachment will be stationed in an African port in case a similar situation arose again in the course of the next year. If it is not the case, we will consuder our duty fulfilled and all ships will be sent back home.

As the general secretary I would like to poin out that Romney having many allies is not sufficient grounds to declare a war. Neither is him convincing your allies that they would be better off with him. That is a failing on your part diplomatically.

As for the blockade, we wish that Japan would have taken it up in the UN before they resorted to military action. The nations of the world would have looked much more kindly on their position in that scenario.

To Manx: your reasoning is shaky at best, while the UN has not voted on whether or not Holy wars are a legitimate reason for war I can assure you that the vote won't turn out in your favor. And as I stated before: having many allies is not a reason for war.

We hope to see this issue resolved in the UN thanks to the first resolution made by the Papacy and passed with unanimous approval.

Take that Romeny!!! It is time to free the Africans from the apatheid regime of Romney!!! Long live Marx!!! Long live Obama!!!!!!! Death to Romney!!!!!

Romney*. Also, you have no idea what you're talking about, Mr. Dictator of Namibia. Romney's social policies make your nation look like Hitler.

If you truly do not support the blockade, then we may make an agreement.

Romensia will refrain from blockading the coast in the future, under the condition that Japan stations ships to prevent and only prevent armed combatants from taking Romnesian land, or bolstering currently subjugated provinces.

If you are as shocked and against the land invasion as you seem to imply, then sending navies for peacekeeping purposes should make sense.

Keep in mind that Romnesia would have lifted or reduced the blockade had nations requested it. As the Secretary stated, not even a UN resolution was proposed. If you were willing to take such a hostile, drastic action, why not propose to the UN prior?

Not only did you have intentions of removing our "defensive" blockade, but you had intentions of blocking all trade to Romney, slashing our revenue and reducing the average citizen to a life of poverty and suffering.

Cathisis: We are very concerned by the course of events. We were not going to take part in this dispute, however, seeing Nambia's obviously hostile intentions and the accusation of them having WMDs, this has become very concerning.

We implore Nambia to withdraw from Romnesia immediately, although we doubt this will happen. Until Nambia withdraws from Romnesia, they can enjoy an embargo from the Spammer's Crusade.

-Prince Admiral Finbar Flanagon's voice booms once more along the Romney coast-

The Imperium notes that the UN lacks any physical power to defend the heretic forces of Romney! Even if it did it would be as strong as dirt compared to the divine might of the Imperium! We of the Imperium of Man entered the war to stop the Mormon heresy from spreading! We have contributed in navy power as a means of allowing our fellow Catholic power of Namibia to gain a taste of crusading glory. We are here on a crusade! Your influence endangers Christaindom! We must deal with the threat to the word of the Lord! We will melt the iron armour that protects you and break your sword with our bare hands! We will use your sheild to strike your head in! In the end the cross will be planted in your heart, serving a hope of redeeming your soul by giving you a taste of the pain the Lord faced as the Lord commence thy noble sacifice for us all! We of the Imperium wish to see order in the lands Romney's chaotic agents of heresy chain! Its is by the Emperor of Man that I will set this present to Romney!

-a shot from a Manx cruiser hit the ground in a farm.-

We of the Imperium wish to say sorry to any faithful fellowers of the true path to salvation for the harm we are causing but we have to commence this in the name of the Lord! May God judge us as we commence our duty for the Lord! May the heretics see their errors and take up the correct path! If they fail... the Imperium will continue its quest to seek out and destroy Romney's body so that his soul will be judged by the Lord, who may hopefully give the mercy we will fail to give to heretics! Glory to God and the Imperium of Man who serve in the Lord's name!

El Presidente is angered that the Imperium would choose to side with the dirty communists of Nambia.

Tropico embargoes both Manx and Nambia until they end hostilities with Romney. Tropico asks her clients to do the same.

-a shot from a Manx cruiser hit the ground in a farm.-

We don't have coastal farms. They wouldn't work.

Romney embargoes Manx and Namibia and Canada, and hopes that all of our clients do the same. An embargo in this case cannot be more justified. As for Canada, we extended our hand to help you in your time of need.

In exchange, you embargo then blockade us? You are pitiful, and one day you will look to others in your time of need, and nobody will lift a finger. Whoever you think may be your friends, they only desire to use you to their benefit. You're a tool, and the Canadian people shouldn't suffer so.

As for Manx and Namibia, you should set aside your religious delusions and realize that you attacked Romnesia without a legitimate cause. You ordered troops to land before we considered annexing your clients (Namibia). As for Manx, why have you done us such a great injustice? We have traded in the past. You were a member of the Trade/Prosperity Coalition.

If religious change or blockade removal was your quest, you could have simply gone to the UN or sent missionaries, perhaps even asked me personally to convert.

Instead of diplomacy, you instantly resorted to violence and death. You will regret it.

OOC: I think cruisers in 2500 would have a longer range than now.

Cathisis: We would like to remind the Imperium of Man that Nambia is a really dangerous country and you are supporting them with your actions. They also are Communists, the very opposite of your nation. We have had good relations in the past, which is why we are emploring you to stop supporting Nambia in their mad attack, rather than just embargoing you straight away. We don't want our relationship to turn sour, but then we also cannot support nations that support warmongers. So please stop.

EDIT: Revelvant UN Proposal

OOC: Don't forget that my cruisers have prevented the blockade and are still off my coast. He's just bombarding "his" land.

To tani:

Tani, what is the cassus belli for any of the blockades and/or land invasion?
As I recall, one needed a reason for embargoing, blockades, and especially war.

"Heresy" is not a reason, since religion is purely for aesthetics. Even so, no attempts to ask for a change in religion was brought up.

Given that this is not a "war" game, rather a soft power game (where you said war would be next to impossible to win). Like I said, I don't recall doing anything (except for the whole 'kitchen' thing) that was cause for a land invasion.

OOC: Actually it is Nambia's land they're bombarding since they were the ones to establish the occupation zone.
