Spartacus has been branded a violent non-state actor in the United Nations, and Spartacus's claims to NGO representation in the United Nations has been struck down.

Sulawesi is guilty of harboring a violent non-state actor. As such, this is confirmation that a Jakartan-Roman Task Force has been dispatched in the region to restore the previous Sulawesian government.

For clarification, the UN resolution did not approve or reject this action. The resolution was merely placing a UN classification on Spartacus and our actions merely stem from that resolution. Spartacus, being deemed officially a VNSA, therefore cannot form a legal government, and therefore the current government of Sulawesi is in forfeit.

The Arstotzkans, Jakartans, and Tayloristani were wiped out, while major blows were dealt to Horde, American, 501st, and Sino-Japanese forces. With deployments of troops to the country in the hundreds of thousands, the Horde’s leadership position is shaky at best; its chief rivals are the Americans, Legion, Sino-Japanese and the Azeri.

Content Populace. While some have attempted to organize protests in New America on the basis of American assertiveness in Europe being liable to lead into another Seven Years’ War, such an idea has not gained much currency. Most American citizens remain confident that Occitania would never dare fire a shot as the war would shatter its delicate position as the rising star of Europe.

We Do Not Accept Blood Money. New American authorities have attempted to win over their Syndicalist citizens with extensive propaganda and benefits; many responded by simply burning American checks. The campaign to take the region will take a few years.

Those Aren’t Brooms! The molemen of New America have staged a massive uprising after somehow being armed. While 6,000 slaves were lost, the toll to New America’s population is far worse: 25,000 dead as a result of indiscriminate killing, not to mention property damage.

Operation: Gaping Anaconda. An INTERPOL-led counterintelligence effort has purged Leth influence from Caracas while also dealing a massive blow to Goon Squad operations in Panama.

Pax Argentinica. Pro-Argentine demonstrations (and in some cases, violence) have occurred across South America. New America has seen some minor damage to its assets in Amazon. (-5 Inf) Major losses were inflicted on Leth properties across Brazil, by contrast, (-100 Inf) while Confederate assets in Venezuela were also a main target. (-75 Inf) It is clear a vocal minority of citizens do not want the North Americans to entrench themselves in South America.

Europe

Slave Rebellion in Iceland. (-5,000 slaves; 5,000 civilians)

Arms Traffic Violation. Several dozen people have been arrested for attempting to set up an illegal smuggling ring within the confines of the Empire of France. The Emperor has, in his mercy, committed most of the (more popular) convicts’ sentences to a minimum of twenty years. The others have been swiftly executed. Reports suggest weapons normally come from Switzerland though other locations are also possible.

Filibuster. While media personalities and politicians have been supportive of unification with Occitania, complete integration will have to wait; opposition politicians have stalled such legislation in the Brittonic government. While United France’s various member parties hold a good deal of seats, they do not yet have the amount of seats or majority to ensure swift entry into a union with Occitania.

Crime Wave. A massive increase in soft drug consumption has put looser drug laws on the ballot in Switzerland. There are reports of entire caches of firearms vanishing, as well.

Norway Fragments! Recent elections have seen two-thirds of the vote taken by a pro-reunification supermajority. Shortly after the new Chancellor was sworn in, however, people were shouting in some cities and shouting in others at clearly undemocratic results. The Norway Noire have been pardoned for their often vicious crimes in the North; Norway has split firmly between pro-unification forces and Norwegian nationalists. The conflict remains the same, the Noire now merely have government legitimacy as they did during the Old Regime. (Norway descends into Civil War between pro-Syndicate and pro-Icelandic factions)

Anti-Americanism in France. Some moderately-sized protests have denounced the government in Burgundy, a great deal of them being nationalists who despise the reliance on American soldiers. However, 10,000 protestors is not enough to sway the state or most citizens. Some minor instability has resulted, however. (-1 Contentness)

Africa

Arson in Egypt. (-2 Argentine influence)

Arsonists Arrested. Libyan authorities have managed to break up a spy ring; while they committed suicide before their loyalties could be extracted, the government has dealt a blow to would-be arsonists.

Arson in Somalia. (-10 CSA influence)

Quit Africa! 50,000 protestors have refused to turn up to work in Azerbaijan for a week, while also protesting the government’s continued ventures in highly-competitive Africa. The resulting economic shockwaves have been fairly debilitating. (-5 Infra)

Exposed! Some Al-Qaeda operatives, while innumerable Goon operatives, have been uncovered and arrested by Tayloristani authorities.

Asia

Spoiler :

Operation: Dragon’s Breath. The Sino-Japanese have led a series of raids across East Asia and the Pacific to purge covert influences. Al-Qaeda operatives have borne the brunt of the raids. However, Mongolia has seen massive arrests in the thousands, with loyalties ranging from the 501st to the Golden Horde to Humanity First. It is obvious there are leftovers of the Civil War for the newly-legitimate government to deal with. Hawai’i has seen extensive arrests as well, such as Spartacus and Humanity First operatives.

Mujahedeen This! The Afghan government has rooted out several members of Al-Qaeda.

Operation: Oriental Stormtrooper. The 501st has led a large intelligence effort that has displaced countless agents, particularly Horde sympathizers and Al-Qaeda agents. Some minor associates of Humanity First were discovered in Maratha.

Oceania

Spoiler :

Failed coup in Sulawesi. An attempt to oust the Spartacus regime has failed. However, Sulawesi remains under intensive blockade, making the political climate on the island uncertain.

Operation: Spicy Wrecking Ball. Jakarta-led forces have purged enemies from within their sphere. Al-Qaeda and Humanity First bore the brunt of the large-scale purge, particularly in Tasmania and Brunei.

Great Slaver Purge! Spartacan forces have rounded up thousands of possible enemy sympathizers, mostly of the Jakartan variety but with Al-Qaeda and Humanity First agents also forming some of the newly-arrested. The Spartacan state of Sulawesi shall endure just a short while longer with this excellent news.

Timorese Revolution. A revolution has swept over Timor, a blaze seeming to have ignited a metaphorical oil slick. The government has been overthrown; its leader’s scalps now adorn the public squares on the island. The Timorese have torched or seized the assets of slaving powers and issued decrees matching exactly those of Spartacan Sulawesi when the latter gained independence. Spartacus has asserted itself as a potent force, having deposed two governments. Now, if only it weren’t for that pesky Jakartan Navy…

Recommendations:

-Espionage is a good tool to rein in NGOs. NGOs derive their income from their percentage of a host country’s total espionage value, similar to how countries earn client income. A good way to bury them is to invest in espionage in a country; even if you don’t root them out through counterintel you can still hurt them greatly in this manner.
-There’s a “profitability” measure on the Influence sheet. The higher the number, the more cost-effective it is to invest in that country. You will notice the most active investors are also the richest nations…
-Participate in the UN. Even abstention votes will still generate some influence points; proposing resolutions and succeeding in getting them passed net the most points.
-It is a good idea to sign Exclusive Investment Agreements with your clients to keep competition out.
-Stay neutral. Neutral states don’t have to worry about things getting blown up, and a lot of events are biased towards peaceful countries.
-There are increasing theories that fission may have been a source of great power in the past. With enough education or military spending perhaps such theories could be looked into…
-Invest espionage in countries you have influence in; this will help keep you safe from predatory attempts to purge your influence.
