My Computer does not meat min specs?

I just built a new pc recently and wanted to play some civ on it. I put BTS on it and updated to the current patch and started the game. The intialization screen showed up white but the game loaded. The game went straight to the main menu with an error message saying my computer didn't meet the minimum specifications. I made sure all of my drivers were up to date started it up again and got the same result.

My System Specs

OS: Windows Vista 64 SP1
CPU: Core i7 920
GPU: EVGA GTX 285
RAM: 6 GB

Anyone else have similar problems? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Welcome to CFC

the minspec warning is too trigger happy in BtS - if anything (like an antivi program) delays its communication with the operating system during startup it will trigger.
Open the civilizationIV.ini and set the
hideminspecwarning=0
to
hideminspecwarning=1

Thanks for your response. I just tried that. Unfortunately I got the same result without the error message. I am able to start a game, but I cannot edit any options and I do not have any interface during the game with very minimal graphics.

in the .ini please set all items with log in their name to 1 (5 of the last 6 settings) then recreate the problem and exit the game. then post my games\beyond the sword\logs as a zip file attachment
