My Deity Histo Attempt(s)

I thought they added 5 points per tech or something but looking at that it doesnt even matter; I will get 30 something I guess. I dont have anything else useful to use gold on ;).

From the master's (SirPleb) article in the war academy:

The scoring works by averaging your per-turn scores throughout the game. For each turn a (hidden) per-turn score is calculated as:

(Territory + HappyCitizens*2 + ContentCitizens + Specialists) * Difficulty

If you win before 2050AD, you get a bonus which is added to your regular score. The bonus is calculated as:

(2050 - FinishYear) * Difficulty

There is one tiny exception for learning "future tech" but it counts for so little in score that it is not worth devoting any energy to it.

Its pretty insignificant for sure, but its easy to configure everything to grab 4 turn techs without too bad of a deficit. I had hoped for 70K and I think that would have been readily possible on this map but would have taken a ton of effort that i dont want to put into it.

On a side note, I never knew you could capture cruise missiles til now. Amazing how you still learn things in this game...

I am ignorant as to how they contribute to the final score (I think it's per turn score) but is it really worth it?

I think each future tech adds 10 points to your score, in the same way each happy citizen adds 2 points. So if you did 4 turn research all the way through 40 future techs on monarch, you'd get 4*(400+360+320+...+40) total score. That's 35200 total score, divided by 540 turns gives you 65 points on your actual score. Should bump the score for them up to make research actually worth doing .

That doesn't fit with my game. I did manage 4 turn research throughout and finished with 28.0 FT points.

I was one turn away from FT44 so I had 3 turns with 43 techs, 4 turns with 42 techs, etc.

Replacing the number of points per tech with x, my total number of points would be [3*43+4*(41+40+...+2+1)]x=3741x

Dividing by 540 gives 6.928x which is very close to 4 points per tech but its not exact so have I made an error in my maths after a 5 week break away from the subject or is it more complicated than a simple fixed point per turn per tech scoring system? Help!!!

Nope. A future tech might add 10 points to your final game score, but it's not 10pt. It was established long ago that in milking, it's better to jack up your luxury slider to 100% rather than waste it the money on FT's...

I'm sure no expert, but Sir Pleb who is an expert, said future tech is worthless and just add to happiness for more points.

edit: I just saw the dates on the previous posts. I feel like Oswald from Drew Carey, he said he had a hard time because he's always 2 beats behind the conversation.

Done finally. It may not last past the first update with Sanabas' and others doing a game but I am glad to get this monstrosity completed. Spending more time would have yielded a lot more points (I am a bit reticent to go through and figure out what I would have had by crippling Persia earlier and actually MMing all the citizens every turn).

Well done. That currently places you #4 in the Histo table which is no minor achievement.:salute:

Nice work. I don't think I'll beat it, I think mine will finish at 50-something k points. I agree with you, I'm more worried about actually finishing than wringing the last point from it.

Here is the world map and some of Persia and some relocated cities. You can see where New Gayaaghe 4 or whatever flipped to the Persians which caused me to settle that other city by the fish. In the end I had far too many coast tiles in my territory so I never reached 7K citizens.

Have 2 games on hold at 600 AD. In one, captured the Pyramids in 230 BC. In the other, I got an SGL on writing used for ToA. In both, 2 AIs are eliminated and working on the third. Both are about 18% land area acquired. Does anyone want to guess what the difference in scores is?

Pyramids > TOA imo. If your land area is about the same, you'll have more population in the first one.

For amusement value, I'll guess... four.

(Nah, really, it's probably like 10% more for Pyramids.)

Nice SGL.

6000 for Pyramids, 3800 for ToA. 2/3 more score for Pyramids. There was only a 300 point differential at 10 AD. I dont think there is any reason to continue a game without Pyramids on your continent.
