By a 2-1 majority (no word from Drachenfel's Mayor), the Mayors of the three cities caught in the naming mishap of 2 months ago have agreed to rerotate the names back to a lineup which conforms to the registry.

Drachenfels->Kagemusha
Duckburg->Drachenfels
Kagemusha->Duckburg

It has ben suggested by some of the citizens that this wish be polled to be validated.

So, 48 Hour Poll. Change, Don't Change, Other (please Specify), Abstain. Public.

EDIT: Some Discussion in the Presidental thread. Other Discussion relates to CC#2.

I say keep the names the same. A mistake may have been made, but--as you point out in the poll--that was almost a millenium ago. Changing the names now will cause more confusion than originally occured from the first mistake.

Well, right is right, and if this breach of conduct goes unpassed, anything can go.
There is no legal expiry date on city names, and other mistakes that are correctible that does not influence the game development. However, with a war on our hands, this is not that important anymore, and I assume the same people as always will vote against me, regardless of the issue, so I frankly do not feel for debating this, but to set the record straight, and to let citizens know that their rights and privileges are taken care of according to law and custom.

Your city was affected, wasn't it Provo? Why did no speak up about this when it happened, and then wait til all of this time?! This is all a bunch of nonsense. If city name's meant so dearly to anyone they would have corrected the mistake when it first happened, not wait a millenia.

One can ask, what is the problem for you, but simply denying those that want a change for political reasons. Switching names takes less energy than you spent here, maybe 1 minute for the Designated Player, and another minute to update (cut/paste) Province threads by adding and removing one city each.

Again, this is not a question of what is rational etc. This is a question of right and wrong, and the people that prefer it to remain wrong does it for political reasons, not practical reasons, since spending all this energy to combat the correction, is nothing but negative intent.

Edit: The Title and the wording of the poll, sets the stage...

Ditto blackheart and Ashburnham. Too much trouble and too much potential for confusion. So what if one mistake was made? Everyone got their cities in the end.

I second that. There's no reason for us to be having this discussion. No harm was done, and no one other than Provo really seems to care. Let's just drop this minor confusion and move on to more pressing issues; like, say, the war with Russia we're about to enter into.

Ash, actually two our of three mayors did care, the last is not here in the game.
Also, we are 3 votes now. some of the votes against a name change I am not surprised to see at all.

I voted for the name change. Primarily because I would like to see Provolution's promised story regarding the name switches. His stories (and other's in his thread) are amoung the most interesting the the RPG forum. It would be a shame if this name change fails to pass and we miss out on the story.

I agree with MOTH. Provo writes some of the best posts in this forum. If this next story even comes close to the ones found in the Casino thread, it's worth a name change. :thumbsup:

Right, and your reason is to correct what was wrong. Where was this reasoning when the error first occured TWO months ago? Changing things now would confuse people.

I am so full of negative intent :rolleyes: ! Just because I disagree with you here, you are always right! :rolleyes:

1. Everyone got their name, and got it spelled right.
2. Provo certainly seems to have taken a liking to his town.
3. This is really old news.
4. Speaking of political reasons, anyone notice how the only thing the plaintiff wanted in the CC, which would have been the perfect platform to fix this, was a political goal?
5. I'd bet everyone here an ounce that Provo's promised story is one big mockery of me.

I don't ****ing care. I left here a while ago. Looking back, this is all hilariously pathetic.

okay....
from what i see this poll has the intent of fixing the names, i fail to see how it has political ambition...
there is no reason to get all mad about it, it is a simple poll
