Hey Paasky, thanks for the update. I ran the game to the 4th week of Dec 1803 IIRC and won a domination victory with the French. Everything worked fine. Game got a bit slow at the end but I think that's because of the limited memory on my computer. Had a lot of fun and did not run into any glitches or technical hiccups that I could see. Kudos on that scenario!
I don't know if the game needs more wonders -- although I doubt adding more would hurt the scenario. Boy, I really don't know what else you would want to do to improve the scenario. You could steal the hot air balloons from the Modern Warfare mod (IIRC), although these weren't really used much at all during that time period.
The only new thing I could think of would be "expedition" wonders representing events outside the scope of Europe that might have a bearing on local politics, economy, or warfare -- for example, the revolt of Haiti (winning or loosing money), selling off Louisiana (either extra money
or extra resources unavailable in Europe), the Pyramids expedition (an extra general), the Battle of Trafalgar (an extra Admiral), etc. In some cases, in addition to building a traditional wonder, committing a certain number of actual troops and/or ships to the "expedition" would determine its chances of success. Just a thought. So far, I can only think of events affecting the French Empire, but I'm sure there would be some others of interest to other CIVs. What if foes of France could build "expedition-style" wonders to foment royalist agitation in France? They'd need to sacrifice spies and money in addition to the regular building time for that.
Thanks for a great game!
