National Wonder combinations

I'm playing a very weird game with the Ottomans right now. It's completely military oriented, and while I popped a couple of GSs at first for some light bulbing now - after conquering my continent - I only need units and little research to get me rifles. Therefor my capital has received the unusual - for me - Heroic Epic + Ironworks combo while I discarded both National Epic (too late, don't need any other GPs) and Oxford in it.

Heroic Epic + Globe Theater is probably the most common pairing I use. I don't find much value in using the Globe in a Nat'l Epic/GP Farm...usually I deal with the happiness cap in other ways.

Zero-penalty whipping with 100% hammer bonus is just too good to pass up.

Nat Epic + Great Library - I know it isn't a national wonder, but it's probably the strongest combo in the game involving national wonders since both of these come early. Add 2 regular scientists from a library and you get a good supply of scientists even in a primarily cottage economy.

Nat Epic + Globe Theatre - only do this one if you don't mind getting some artists. Great for cultural victories though.

Heroic Epic + West Point - obvious, I only bring this up because no one mentioned using an engineer for WP, which makes it much more convenient. If you're in a game with heavy fighting

Ironworks + West Point - when your Heroic Epic city is permanently busy and you don't have an engineer this is a good choice for a second military production centre, since the IW helps build west point faster.

Ironworks + Red Cross - Late game, but it has a nice synergy where the ironworks builds RC quickly and then RC helps counteract the typical IW unhealthiness.

100% with uberfish!

My favourite combos are
- HE + WP (no more reason needed, i think after 2 pages)
- IW + RC (health is needed badly there)
- National Epic in the biggest wonder city I have, the one with Great Library is best.
If I have a really high food city, I'll stick with NE + GT. I captured kyoto early once, it had 5 sea food resources, + some forest on the land, how can you make use of so much food without the globe??? I whipped the NE soon after that, and went crazy with artists of course. It's impossible to make a good early use of such a city without high happiness solutions, and whipping is the best possible solution (drafting is even better, but comes much later).

If I manage to, I build oxford in my most commerce heavy city.
But very often, it just takes too long to build, and oxford ends up in the great Library city.
So the combo is oxford + NE + wonders.

Wall street is late game. But it's obviously in a holy city with shrine(s). Gotta love Isabella ;)
Since it's late, it's not really "paired". Unless Isabella was a bit far away. Then it is paired with Forbidden palace :lol:

Scotland yard is usually built in a remotely good production city, preferably near borders (i don't need so many spies at home).
Mount rushmore? Never built this one.

- IW + RC (health is needed badly there)

I'm still confused by this - what health?

Civ4BuildingInfos.xml says:
bAreaCleanPower = 0
bNonhealthyPopulation = 0
bBuildingOnlyHealthy = 0
iHealth = 0
iAreaHealth = 0
iGlobalHealth = 0
bonus health changes = none

To whomever suggested the Ironworks/NE combo...thanks.

In CE games, I've been converting my GPF to GE farms once the IW becomes available. Most of the workshops have already been built. It's been a seamless transition.
