I got a good starting location as the Greeks on a Terra map. I have many options that I can do; I have Stone which I can start wonder-building (Which will benefit from my Philo trait) and I also have copper incase I want to start rampaging through my nearest enemy. Any suggestions on what strategy I should pursue? I was thinking of making an early war and then pursue a Cultural victory. Btw, game is on Monarch.

Your nearest neighbour is a pro civ ( Saladin, at least it looks that way from the minimap ), so I would put aside a rush. Mids would fit well with the Phi trait and you have stone... I would go that way.

P.S Did you already researched Masonry and the wheel ( you should not waste time for hooking the stone)? And a advice ( I'm a monarch player too, so take it with a grain of salt or two ): you shold not chop plains forests when you have avaliable grassland ones to chop...

Doesn't matter about the forests, he has plenty of hills for production anyway.

Making the capital a production monster seems easy with that start, Pyramids is a must given that start and Philosophical. Mids, Rex, research a lot, maybe a war with catapults and stuff, the game is wide open for you ;)

Ivory too? Cats/Elephants is the way to go for your first war. :D

I agree, but OP is clearly chopping 1st settler ( nice move )... I was just staitng that if he wants to do that, it would be better to chop that grassland tile N of capitol ( that is farmable before CS ) that a plains forest ( a plains tile is extremely hard to use properly before Biology... with a forest it is almost a mine ).

And a cats + phants war when Construction arrives seems like a no brainer to me as well ;)

I disagree. You won't be able to work all the mines without some farmed grassland. Plains can't give surplus food before biology. Grassland can. The first forest chopped should be the riverside grassland because it will be farmed before too long. Also, lumbermills are usually the best improvement for a plains tile unless you are running State Property, so unless you need to chop a plains forest, you should generally chop the grasslands first.

True, i would have picked one of the places i would farm later anyway, but if he is gonna use all forests for Pyramids and stuff to get a quick start it doesn't matter. Point is it isn't a "mistake", just depends on what he is planning to use those forests for. :)
(oh, and i believe chopping one forest there will make it very likely it will regrow again too)

I'd get some wonders. Your capital is unsuited for cottaging and lacks food, and 2 protective and skirmirshers aren't fun to attack at all.
