Nerds in Space

agreed on 1, but 2 isn't SO bad. granted, teh love stuff is pretty lame, but still...

my 4 yr old loves star wars (is playing lego star wars on xbox right now) so we werw watching the movies every day for a while.

also, if he likes star wars, try the new clone wars tv show on cartoon network...you can download all of season one and usually the new episodes the day after. definitely worthwhile

Revenge of the Sith

Emperor: Skywalker - you will become my evil apprentise
Shywalker: No. I will not convert to the dark side
Emperor: You know you want to ... go on, you'll enjoy it
Piewalker: Oh, ok ... your argument convinced me.

...

Yoda: A non-change in the force I have felt

I much prefer the original mini-series. My favorite episode was one of the early ones (maybe even the first?) which followed a bunch of Clone Troopers on a planetary assault. Best part? No dialogue. Just hand signals. C'mon, that's kick-ass.

Also: Agree with Ruff's assessment of RotS. A few years back, I was recall that I was trying to rewrite some of those scenes, then I gave up because it wasn't worth it.

Revenge of the Sith

Palpatine: Annakin, you were an unwitting pawn I used to throw Mace Windu out a window. There's only one path ahead for you now.

Annakin: Kill all the children in the temple?

Palpatine: Uh...sure?

Annakin (skipping away happily singing to himself): Going to kill the children!

Mace Windu's floating blue ghost: That boy ain't right.

some of best "sketches" on robot chicken are about star wars...

Palpatine (on phone w/Darth): What?!? Let me get this straight? They blew up the death star?!!?!

[later]

Palpatine (whispering): I love you too...bye.

"I didn't even finish making the payments on it! . . . Just build another one?! Who would come up with such a stupid idea?!"

Don't have time to listen to that abridged script tonight, but I'll take a listen later.

the best part of that bit is before hand when they're in the office and Ponda Baba doesn't want to leave to go to the bar in the first place

I opened up the save to play and looked around and.....

Didn't know what to do as I have nio idea what our goals are here? We are in a fairly good position but we need to stick at an end goal now. How are we going to win this game? Conquest/Domination or space/UN/peacenik (UN would be good, as the Senate uniting the Republic) as we can't muddle along from here.

We should be researching Liberalism and building/whipping universities but are building military excfept for those cities which should be building military and are building infrastructure.

So pipe up and say how you want to win tghis thing and we may even have a plan eventuate to actually do this.

I'll play tomorrow once the voices from the deep dark recesses of space are heard.

Have fun. It is supposed to be a game.

We are in a fairly good position
We are? I was under the impression the game was hopeless, but that's probably more due to my capacity to lose from just about any position.

Check the title. No exceptions.

So, we're 100% ass backward?

So seriously, I think this war really sapped us. True, we'll need better production cities to launch, but we were in it to long. Pholk's idea was to build up for one last squish of Sally, take a couple of better cities, then go into science and hammers mode.

I tend to agree except that I don't see the squish being easy or affordable.

Sally's down to last in score now, and way below us in power. I think the squish will go with minimal effort, tbh. for space i think we definitely need a good land base to do it from.

so, guns now, butter tomorrow.

The good people of Rome decide that a Liberalism chase is all good fun and switch research.

There are still surprises to be had as we meet another rival.

She is last in score and I assumed someone released a vassal at first as she isn't that bad in the tech race but must have been around from the beginning.

Anyway, we have some troops set up again.

The southern army...

This army should march on whatever city Sally has down there and wait for the navy to arrive and move to the city south with the sugar.

The northern army...

Land them same turn as you declare and take the city and move to the old capital. The capitol will take some hits from the camels so whip another pike or elephant in the early stages of the war. Once the survivors from the battle make it here, we should be able to clear out the north with the addition of a couple of trebs.

Get the libraries and unis up asap (whip them) to get Oxford built in the capital.

We have 2 turns left on Liberalism. Most AIs have Paper so its a risk trying to extend the race any further. We should trade away Education to pick up Astronomy, Drama, Banking and Music and then take Nationalism from Liberalism and build the Taj in the capital.

Er, sure, but is the most recent save available? I'm not seeing it. Otherwise, looks like good ol' hammer time.
