NES Idea List.

I would like the Dune game but it could be hard to pull off unless you scaled it down to forming new factions on one planet or something. You could still get trade from otehr planets and what not, but see them on a map or something.

would anyone join a fresh start (2000-1500bc) nes with nes2 rules just kinda changed for the early ages?

I think I will join something like that, erez.

I would join such a nes.

of course i would send orders, unless ur nes gets REALLY, REALLY, boring....

yes but the rules are like NES2 (das rules are perfect for an ancient age to...)

Got a name for army units instead of divisions? I don't think they had divisions in 1500bc...
For navy I think instead of task force i'll call it fleet (or flulit whatever it's spelled, ones i heard it)

Now air force ;)

Can we think more on the Dune NES? It can be based on Dune 1 PC game....

I believe it would be better to find a galaxy map somewhere, so that we could have the Imperium-wide struggle between the Houses represented, and not just the planet.

Another idea for a NES, how about a NES set in Daftpanzer's celtic peacekeepers?

I like the idea of an NES set in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, ignoring the actual storyline. (Just take the countries). Would be a not too dissimilar from a Middle Ages NES, but with magic involved.

I also like the idea of an SMAC NES. I call the Gaians! ;)

Also perhaps a new version of "Old Empires" in which different empires, such as Rome, Han, the Inca and the Caliphate survive.

Now that's a good idea. But when to set it? The Incan War? The Byzantine War? The Hittite Horde? World War One? World War Two?

I like his story very much, but I think it is easier if we pick real history (more stuff for reference).
As for the Dune NES I was thinking of setting it on the planet. Exploration, mining, wars, diplomacy, trade, all mighty bully emperor - what can be better?

I'd say World War One, NK.

Here's another idea - what about a near future world which, somehow, was entirely conquered/united? Players could be either provincial governors of the Global Empire, or leaders of rebel groups that seek to carve out their other nations. The Global Empire ITSELF is Permanent NPC, and owns lands throughout the world directly, while the rest of the world is semi-autonomous as long as it does not interfere with GE policy.

I just got a great idea (think)--feudal europe: with a new twist. You start out on a blank Europe map, after the fall of the Roman Empire or whatever, and you start with one fief-which provides you with a steady income, troop supply, etc. Then, as you order to expand, the moderator divides your territories as he sees fit into more fiefs.

Then, after you contact other players and NPCs, you can agree to form kingdoms, either by him swearing allegience to you or vice versa. These kingdoms are eventually mostly non-royal lands, for most of it is ruled by the feudal lords and their fiefs under the king. The king can grant new titles, like "Earl of ___" which increase the people's confidence in you.

However, kingdoms won't necessarily last. Each lord, like you, has a bloodline, and part of your stats is how many heirs to the throne you have. To increase these, you have to have your lords marry other fief's ladies. In doing so, you get a claim to their land, but a very weak one. This will only go into effect if all of their male heirs die, but if they all do, you will get most of their lands, and if you married into royal family, a whole kingdom.

Anybody who has this misfortune happen to them loses half their fiefs and the titles. And perhaps a throne.

However, if more than one person has a claim to an open throne, either one must defer to the other... Or they have to settle it on the field of conflict. Those who do not have a claim can either declare for one noble or the other and supply their claim with manpower, or stay neutral.

Thus, it means a constantly shifting Europe with feudal claims right and left, quite a bit of intrigue, and (I think) a very fun game.

Anyone up for Dune NES? :(

wow North King thats a GRAND idea! But should it use regular NES rules (like stjnesx) with the extra of this new rules? or somthing else?
